Keith David is overcome with emotion as he leads big names announced to be on Hollywood Walk Of Fame
It was one of actor Keith David’s most emotional moments ever – and he wasn’t even acting.
On Wednesday, the award-winning performer, now aged 69, felt immense joy upon learning that he would soon receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, with the ceremony planned for some time in 2026.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’m thrilled to share that I recently learned about an exciting development involving none other than the talented actor, David Duchovny! You might recognize him from iconic films like Crash, The Thing, and They Live. Well, he was recently bestowed with an honor, and he took to social media to express his reaction, which was publicly announced by the accomplished actor-comedian, Eugenio Derbez. This news has sent ripples of excitement through the entertainment world, and I can’t wait to see what unfolds next for this remarkable artist!
Upon hearing that he had been named an honoree, David was visibly taken aback, his mouth gaping wide, and he reached out to clutch his chest in delightful astonishment.
He was astonished, he expressed on X,” referring to the platform or medium where the statement was made. “Simply being able to do this as a job is reward enough for me; having my work in the arts acknowledged is just the icing on the cake.
David expressed gratitude, saying, ‘I’m thankful, Hollywood Walk of Fame and Hollywood Chamber, for bestowing this honor upon me. It promises to make an excellent birthday gift next year.’

Later on TikTok, he expressed gratitude by saying, ‘#HollywoodWalkofFame and Hollywood Chamber, thank you for bestowing this great honor upon me.’
David mentioned: ‘I’d like to give a shout-out to my wife, @Dionne Lea – my biggest cheerleader! Next year, this will make a fantastic birthday gift for her.’
For an entertainer to earn a star, they must first be nominated for the honor and willingly accept this recognition beforehand.
Distinguished personalities such as Miley Cyrus, Demi Moore, Timothée Chalamet, Shaquille O’Neal, Rami Malek, Emily Blunt, Noah Wyle, Rachel McAdams, and the late director Tony Scott were among those honored as future star recipients.
The video posted by David was highly appreciated on the MadeMeSmile subreddit, drawing numerous heartwarming comments from fans who admired the actor’s extensive repertoire of live-action and voice acting performances.

One user wrote of the venerated actor: ‘Icon. Long overdue.’
A different user, focusing on the idea that the recognition is long overdue, chimed in, ‘Come on! This guy was a regular in some of the most iconic films of the 1980s and truly had massive appeal at the box office.’
‘I’m sort of surprised this is only happening now.’
Another Redditor commented: ‘In the movie Requiem For A Dream, he gave me a real scare, and even creeped me out terribly. Yet, it’s amusing to observe his gentle and affectionate side. That’s the image that comes to mind whenever I see him.’
