Kesha breaks silence following Diddy trial’s shock verdict in support of Cassie

On Wednesday, Kesha openly expressed her backing for Cassie Ventura after the unexpected not-guilty verdict in the seven-week long federal trial of her former boyfriend, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.

In a tweet, the 38-year-old pop sensation with over 43 million social media fans expressed her conviction: “Cassie, I truly think you are telling the truth.” She went on to express her affection, saying, “I admire you deeply. Your courage serves as a guiding light for every survivor.

Over the past two years, Kesha Sebert has found resolution in a lengthy, nine-year court dispute with her ex-producer, Dr. Luke. She alleged various forms of mistreatment including physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, along with workplace discrimination; all claims that he denied.

Additionally, the twice Grammy-nominated artist also ended their association with Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald’s 51-year-old Grammy-nominated label, Kemosabe Records, as well as RCA Records and Vector Management.

Previously disgraced 55-year-old hip-hop magnate had been staring at a lifetime imprisonment, but a jury composed of eight males and four females declared him innocent on counts of racketeering conspiracy and sexual exploitation allegations.

Nevertheless, it was determined that Diddy was indeed convicted on two charges related to the Mann Act. This act is also known as transporting individuals for immoral purposes, in this case, flying paid escorts across the country for sexual events he organized, which were referred to as ‘freak offs,’ and were characterized by extensive use of baby oil.

In a similar vein, Cassie and ‘Jane Doe’, who provided testimony during the trial, both wrote letters to Judge Arun Subramanian of the US District Court. Their request was for the three-time Grammy awardee to stay in MDC Brooklyn’s Special Housing Unit prior to his sentencing, a decision that the judge made on Wednesday night.

Sean Combs, having served 10 months in prison previously, could potentially be sentenced to a maximum term of 20 years, though legal officials are aiming for a minimum of around 4.25 years (or 51 months) in prison.

Some legal analysts anticipate that the Harlem-bred hip-hop celebrity might serve significantly reduced sentences, potentially ranging from 18 to 24 months.

In 2005, when she was just 19 years old, the mother of three had a record deal with Diddy, who was then 36, for ten albums under his Bad Boy Records label. However, none of those albums were ever released, and they ended their intermittent 11-year relationship in 2018.

In the year 2023, Cassie brought forth a lawsuit accusing her opponent of rape, abuse, and sex trafficking. This individual, who was a single father of seven, subsequently resolved the matter confidentially without disclosing the settlement amount.

Diddy initially strongly refuted all accusations, but then a video from last year emerged on CNN, showing him physically attacking the ex-R&B artist at the InterContinental Century City in 2016.

On the 28th of August, Cassie and her husband, previously her personal trainer Alex ‘Poonie’ Fine, will be marking their sixth wedding anniversary. They are thrilled parents to daughters Frankie (5 years old) and Sunny (4 years old), as well as a one-month-old son.

Diddy’s legal struggles continue as he faces more than a hundred civil lawsuits filed by various accusers such as Joi Dickerson-Neal, Liza Gardner, Rodney ‘Lil Rod’ Jones, Crystal McKinney, April Lampros, Adria English, Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith, Dawn Richard, Thalia Graves, Ashley Parham, Bryana ‘Bana’ Bongolan, LaTroya Grayson, Phillip Pines, and Joseph Manzaroc.

In the meantime, Kesha regains control of her singing voice in court and, starting this Friday, her sixth studio album titled “Period” will be the debut release under her personal record label, Kesha Records.

On Thursday, the performer known for “Yippee-Ki-Yay” and the band called Scissor Sisters will present their collaborative 26-date tour titled “The Ts Out Tour” at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California.
