I’d Really Like Kaley Cuoco To Get Back Into Comedy, But She Just Got Honest About Why She Chose Her Next (Dramatic) TV Project
Kaley Cuoco has had an extraordinary career trajectory. Starting with the sitcom “8 Simple Rules” that boosted her early success in the 2000s, followed by her breakout role as Penny on “The Big Bang Theory,” which marked her rise to stardom, she primarily made a mark for herself in the world of sitcoms. Following her tenure on the Chuck Lorre comedy, however, she broadened her horizons and demonstrated her versatility with shows like “The Flight Attendant.” Although I’d be delighted to see Cuoco return to comedy, she recently discussed why she pursued her subsequent dramatic role instead.
What Did Kaley Cuoco Say About Making Her New Drama Series?
As a fervent admirer, I must say, while many yearn for Kaley Cuoco’s return to the world of The Big Bang Theory, there’s no denying that she has already demonstrated her ability to tackle more complex, darker roles. Her stellar performance in two seasons of The Flight Attendant left audiences in awe, showcasing the full extent of her talent and even earning her an Emmy nomination – a testament to her versatility as an actress.
The mother to Matilda (with partner and Ozark star Tom Pelphrey) recently finished working on her newest dramatic series, Vanished, and took to Instagram to reflect on why she took on a role in another thriller. After noting that it was “one of the coolest work experiences to date” for her, she added, in part:
It requires significant effort for me to leave my family and fully commit to a job located far away. However, I trusted myself, took the leap, and with my incredible partner urging me on, I went for it, and I couldn’t be happier about that decision.
In early 2022, the actress who played a role based on real life events openly discussed her relationship with Pelphrey. It’s heartening to learn that he was ready to handle most of the parenting responsibilities while she embarked on a new venture by taking a chance and starring in an upcoming TV show.
In the movie titled “Vanished”, the character Alice, portrayed by someone, embarks on a romantic journey to France accompanied by her boyfriend Tom (performed by Sam Claflin from “The Hunger Games”). However, during their travel by train between Paris and a southern part of the country, an unusual event occurs: Tom inexplicably vanishes. This incident propels Alice into a complex and perilous situation as she uncovers the depths of her ignorance about him. While I’d be thrilled if our favorite actress from “The Flight Attendant” starred in another full-blown comedy, given how captivating she was in that series and her obvious enthusiasm for “Vanished”, I’m genuinely looking forward to watching this new show. There may come a time when she returns to the sitcom realm, but as long as she keeps picking intriguing roles, I’ll stay supportive.
