Fans lose it over viral video of Orlando Bloom after shock split: ‘I stand with Katy Perry!’

As an ardent admirer of Katy Perry, I’ve found myself caught up in a whirlwind of opinions among fellow fans over a trending video featuring her partner, Orlando Bloom, engaging in his morning meditation practice complete with rhythmic chanting.

In the recently unearthed video, Orlando – a long-time Buddhist practitioner since his teenage years – is seen seated in a crossed-leg position and bare-chested on the living room carpet, engaging in prayer.

An actor famous for his role in The Lord of the Rings is speaking a Japanese prayer, ‘Namu Myōhō Renge Kyō.’ This phrase is a mantra from the Nichiren sect of Buddhism, used to purge negative actions and aid in the pursuit of spiritual understanding.

Recently, clips from previous times are being shared again on social media platforms following the surprising announcement last week that Katy, aged 40, and Orlando, aged 48, have ended their nine-year relationship which resulted in their daughter, Daisy Dove, who is now four years old.

Sharing the video on Instagram, a clever social media user joked, “Katy Perry might have lost her partner, but she’s gained peaceful mornings instead.

Audacious commenters swiftly joined the conversation with playful jabs, such as: “That’s what marrying Katy Perry did to him,” and: “HAHA this is why I don’t date good-looking men. There’s always something strange about them.” However, some found these remarks disrespectful towards Orlando’s religious beliefs.

‘That clears things up! I’m on team Katy Perry!’ Another option might be: ‘Getting married to Katy Perry makes you want to cleanse your life.’

‘A spectator chuckled, commenting that he seemed to be scolding her,’ remarked one onlooker, as another wittily observed: ‘Full of wisdom yet still pals with Bezos…’

In addition, Orlando’s team members countered with comments such as: “This is a hundred times less bothersome than seeing Katy Perry,” and “I’d prefer his chants over her singing.

One viewer commented, ‘It seems many commenters would tolerate his early-morning songs over the frightening yells he might direct at you later on.’

Another Instagram user countered, suggesting simply ‘Meditation is enough for him.’ Additionally, they find him quite attractive, thus his chanting is acceptable to them, laughing it off with a playful ‘He’s doing well in that department.’

Being a Buddhist, I must say this is truly captivating! Coincidentally, I too am single like Orlando. Let’s lead the chant together!

In my perspective, it’s absolutely fine to infuse a touch of mindfulness from Buddhism into one’s daily routine. Engaging with this individual has likely required me to practice some meditation, chuckle.

Some found it offensive when others were ridiculing Orlando. They commented, “This is incredibly disrespectful,” and expressed bewilderment about why anyone would mock the faith of others.

One sternly stated, “This mantra is incredibly potent. End of story. There’s no room for humor here.” To this, the other replied gently, “Let him continue his chanting without interruption. Why do you seem upset by Buddhism? Perhaps it would be beneficial for you to delve deeper into its teachings.

Orlando’s connection with the phrase “Namu Myōhō Renge Kyō” dates back a long time, as this mantra initially drew him towards Buddhism at age 16 when he was captivated by a mentor-painter who often chanted it.

Last year, during an interview on the Today show, I reminisced about a conversation we had. I asked him point-blank, “What’s your take on my current situation?” To which he replied, “I’m rooting for your success in your upcoming exams and a prosperous life thereafter.

Regardless of doubting his faith on numerous occasions, he continues to adhere to Buddhism because he finds it incredibly beneficial for him.

As a devoted devotee, let me share with you, giggling softly, that it’s not about floating through life by repeating “Namu Myōhō Renge Kyō”. Instead, I use this mantra as my lifeline, a beacon guiding me through the turbulence of existence. It’s my compass when navigating life’s unpleasantness.

In 2003, the year that marked his debut in “Pirates of the Caribbean” and the conclusion of the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, he was officially welcomed into the Buddhist community organization Soka Gakkai at their Victorian mansion headquarters located in Buckinghamshire.

In friendship with Courtney Love, Orlando also shares a Buddhist guide named David. She acknowledges that it’s through their shared religious beliefs that he has assisted her in maintaining sobriety.

Four years following the backlash in Orlando over his daily lifestyle considered “quite LA,” a video showing him chanting went viral. In an interview with The Sunday Times, he admitted that much of his time was spent envisioning roles, not just for himself but also for minorities and women.

He spoke enthusiastically about gazing into Daisy’s eyes when she was an infant, and he also mentioned his daily practice of chanting for twenty minutes in the Buddhist tradition each morning.

Orlando could “work off my breakfast” by taking a hike, accompanied by tunes from Nirvana or Stone Temple Pilots. However, first thing’s first: he should have his morning shake, which includes some green powders blended with brain octane oil, a collagen powder to support hair and nail health, and a dose of protein.

In the interview, he clarified that his diet is primarily plant-based, with an exception for a high-quality piece of red meat, which he might have only once a month. Occasionally, he admires a cow so much that it seems incredibly beautiful to him.
