Verdict on Jurassic World: Rebirth
Recap
The film chronicles a team of hired guns enlisted by a drug company rep for an unusual task: retrieving dinosaur genetic material. On their journey, they manage to save a besieged family. Yet, the island is teeming with the most enormous and lethal dinosaur ever discovered.
Best Parts
The Jurassic World films have consistently explored a thought-provoking theme: if dinosaurs were brought back, people might lose their fascination with them. This idea was central to the genetic engineering of dinosaurs in the first movie and is further developed here by depicting individuals seeking financial gain from these creatures before they potentially go extinct once more. It’s exciting to watch these creations come alive, whether it’s in a tranquil or action-packed scenario.
Worst Parts
Regrettably, the preview seems to reveal a lot of dinosaur scenes, and you may find yourself recognizing most of them. The human characters lack depth and come off as less engaging compared to their predecessors. While there is some character growth, none of them are as captivating as past characters such as the dinosaur specialist, the mercenaries or the representative. Additionally, the specialist’s expertise in dealing with different dinosaurs isn’t emphasized enough. The family subplot feels contrived and out of place compared to other elements of the story.
Final Thoughts –Jurassic World: Rebirth has great dinosaur shots, but a by-the-book story.
