Bob Hawke’s wife Blanche d’Alpuget doesn’t look like this anymore! The late Prime Minister’s widow debuts makeover as she promotes her latest X-rated novel
In a striking transformation, the spouse of Australia’s ex-Prime Minister Bob Hawke appeared nearly unidentifiable while publicizing her latest provocative literary work in Sydney.
Last week, Blanche d’Alpuget, now a widow since 2019 following the passing of her spouse, appeared in a video shared on Facebook by Abbey’s Bookshop.
In the video, the 81-year-old donned a vibrant makeup style with strong blush on her cheeks, urging her followers to purchase her latest book titled The Bunny Club.
She donned a neutral-colored padded coat to keep warm while exploring the famous Sydney bookstore, adding a pop of color with a red beanie, a decorative scarf, and dainty pearl earrings.
Instead of her typical large, curly hairstyle, her hair now sat close to her head in a short, straight bob, quite different from her usual style.

‘There’s plenty of s-e-x in it,’ she told her fans of her new novel.
In her unique style, she shed light on the ‘mystery’ genre by suggesting that the events might be either a tragic case of murder or an escalated sexual game.
‘Blanche D’Alpuget pens a captivating story revealing the surprising demise of Australia’s cherished figure, a well-known and instantly recognizable morning TV host, who was discovered deceased under enigmatic and disquieting conditions in her Southern Highlands residence.’
2020 saw Blanche making a shocking revelation in an explosive memoir. She alleged that her deceased spouse, Bob, engaged in four extramarital affairs during his tenure as prime minister and struggled with a compulsion towards sexual activities.
During his tenure as a national leader from 1983 to 1991, it was reported that the esteemed politician was involved in approximately four significant romantic entanglements. This information was shared by his widow in the book “Bob Hawke: Demons and Destiny.
In my role as a lifestyle expert, allow me to share some insights about a personal journey that spanned several decades. I was married to my beloved wife from 1956 up until our amicable separation in 1995. However, it wasn’t until 1976 that I found myself drawn into a complex and evolving relationship with another individual – d’Alpuget. Over the years, this connection ebbed and flowed, but it was only in 1988 that it truly took root once more.
She said Hawke’s behaviour would be classed as a sex addiction.
After a day filled with strenuous tasks, he needed a way to relax, almost like releasing pressure from a container, and what better than a leisurely walk or some similar activity, as quoted by d’Alpuget.

Back in the groovy ’60s and ’70s, I couldn’t help but be captivated by the magnetic allure of the man they called Hawke. It seemed like an endless parade of women were spellbound by his charisma, throwing their hearts – and sometimes even themselves – at him!
If rejected, Hawke was known to be brutal.
Previously appointed tourism minister, John Brown, reminisced about former Prime Minister Bob Hawke who was known for persistently pursuing women, a behavior that was far from secretive, as excerpts from the book suggest, as reported by The Australian.
Former union secretary Bill Kelty, a colleague of Hawke at the Australian Council of Trade Unions, stated that Hawke often engaged in sleeping with women while they were out drinking together, sometimes till the wee hours of the night.
‘Bob typically stayed up drinking, flirting, and gambling from around 2:30 am to 3:30 am, but come morning, he’d be among the first at the ACTU executive meeting at 9:00 am, appearing refreshed.’
Throughout his leadership, Hawke abstained from alcohol, having been known for his drinking habits during his time in the trade union.
Or, more casually:
Hawke, who was quite the drinker in his trade union days, chose to give up alcohol while leading.
Both versions convey the same meaning but with a slightly different tone and style.
