Tencent’s WeChat platform to have Supercell titles Clash Royale and Brawl Stars as installation-free mini games
Story Highlights
- Supercell is bringing Brawl Stars and Clash Royale to WeChat as installation-free mini games.
- Clash Royale’s mini game version is set to launch exclusively on WeChat in September 2025.
- More Supercell titles like Clash of Clans, mo.co, and Squad Busters could follow in the future.
Supercell plans to make some of their popular games accessible directly within Tencent’s multi-purpose messaging app, WeChat, without the need for installation. As of now, Brawl Stars has been integrated into WeChat, with Clash Royale currently being developed for the same platform.
Tencent aims to grow WeChat’s mini game ecosystem, which already has over 500 million monthly users
In September 2025, it’s been announced that a simplified version of Clash Royale will debut exclusively on WeChat. Remarkably, this version won’t require any additional downloads; you can dive right in and play straight from the app itself.

As the guy behind the scenes at Supercell, ensuring the smooth operation of beloved games like Clash of Clans, I’m thrilled to announce that Brawl Stars is now ready for action! On the other hand, rest assured that our dedicated team is tirelessly working on improvements for Clash Royale.
This move by Tencent forms part of their broader strategy to expand the gaming environment within WeChat, a platform that currently boasts over 500 million monthly users. By integrating popular Supercell games as easy-to-play options within WeChat, Tencent aims to further simplify mobile gaming for its users.
Supercell’s method emphasizes seamless continuation for long-term players and an effortless start for newcomers. Since Tencent holds a significant share in the Finnish studio, this transformation should be smooth as Tencent is also responsible for publishing these titles and offers Chinese adaptations of the games.
More installation-free mini-games would benefit a lot of players
Tencent is heavily investing in the expanding mini games and video elements within WeChat as a means to fuel its future expansion. Even today, Supercell, which generated approximately $3 billion in 2024, remains one of Tencent’s most valuable holdings. Given Supercell’s popular titles, it’s clear that this will be a significant endeavor.

Currently, these two games are set in stone, and Clash of Clans could see a mini-game spinoff as an exciting addition in the future. With fresh offerings from Supercell like “mo.co” and “Squad Busters,” WeChat enthusiasts have plenty to anticipate moving forward.
As a gamer myself, I can’t help but express my excitement about the rise of instant play gaming platforms. I’m talking about Google’s Instant Games and YouTube’s Playables, which are perfect for quick, on-the-go entertainment. It would be fantastic to see even more of these installation-free gameplay platforms emerge, as they have the potential to revolutionize mobile gaming.
