Kyle Sandilands storms off his radio show and threatens to quit after being dumped from the airwaves for discussing Beauty and the Geek star accused of murder

On Wednesday, an upset Kyle Sandilands dramatically left his radio program following his unexpected removal from the broadcast.

Yesterday, my colleagues and I found ourselves in a bit of a pickle due to some candid discussions about Tamika Chesser, a former contestant on Beauty and the Geek, who’s been involved in an alleged murder case. Our conversations were met with a fair amount of censorship, which is always an interesting dance when navigating sensitive topics.

Moving back to the topic, Kyle expressed his discontentment, stating that it was unfair how television and newspapers could cover the case, while radio faced a stricter standard regarding ‘contempt of court.’

He went on to say that the ‘radio laws should be overhauled’, before the show was taken off air. 

‘This means

someone has said something inappropriate and is currently getting in trouble,’ a recorded voice said. ‘The broadcast will return in seconds.’

Returning to the broadcast, Kyle, working remotely, evidently wasn’t pleased with the interruption and criticized the censorship team at KIIS FM.

He stated, “Apparently, we were abruptly interrupted during an ongoing conversation about recent events on the show, which I had previously talked over with our legal team.

‘Why was that dumped, censor, when I was using all the correct lingo?’

The censors informed Kyle that it was his co-host, Bruno Bouchet (The Kyle & Jackie O Show’s director), who decided to terminate the program.

In a heated outburst, Kyle declared that he would only betray the group if we had violated the law, followed by his dramatic exit from the show.

‘You know what? I’m going home – oh sorry, I’m already home.

I refuse to spend my time here following all these outdated rules and instructions. I won’t do it.

‘I’m not interested in being puppeteered by losers.’ 

Kyle’s spray didn’t stop at that point; moreover, he made it clear that he wouldn’t be back on the air again.

‘Some laws are just so dumb and stupid, and I’m not playing ball,’ he said.

I won’t return to the air until the show is being managed exactly as I envision it. In no capacity, format, or manner will I appear before that happens.

I prefer not to spend my time treading carefully while others dictate how I should live my life.

Kyle stated, “I follow my own desires and if that doesn’t suit you, I apologize, but that’s just how I operate.

Kyle playfully suggested he would search for Bruno using “dogs and a bat” (presumably a baseball bat) near his home, before his manager resumed speaking on the microphone.

He confessed to taking the program off-air, stating: “Indeed, it was due to the contempt of court issues. Frankly, I don’t want any of you ending up in jail.

Kyle found this very difficult to accept, expressing that he’d prefer to serve jail time instead of being ordered around.

‘I’d rather be r***d in jail than be puppeteered by losers,’ he spat.

I am thoroughly disappointed with this show. I believe the judges, ACMA, and the management of the radio station should all be equally dissatisfied.

Kyle then said that he would be off air until at least Monday before making his exit.

‘Enjoy the rest of the week, guys. Arrivederci from me.’

On June 19, Chesser was apprehended following the arrival of law enforcement due to a minor blaze reported at the shared residence with Julian Daniel Story, who is 39 years old, in Port Lincoln.

Upon the arrival of emergency services, they encountered a gruesome scene: Mr. Story was found dismembered, with his head missing, on the bathroom floor of his apartment.

When emergency responders reached the apartment, they discovered a distressing sight: Mr. Story was decapitated and scattered across the bathroom floor.

Both sentences convey the same information in an easy-to-read manner while avoiding overly graphic language.

In an unfortunate turn of events, I found myself detained on the spot and accused of a heinous crime – taking a life. At present, I’m confined within the walls of James Nash House, a place that focuses on mental health care.
