Lizzo’s extreme diet U-turn revealed after ditching Hollywood’s Ozempic craze
Lizzo is discussing the modifications she made to her lifestyle that led to her significant weight loss, including abandoning a strict vegan diet.
The 37-year-old vocalist, who made heads turn with her figure in a fitted mini-dress adorned with corsets at the BET Awards, hasn’t specified the exact amount of weight she shed, yet she’s disclosing her weight loss methods instead.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d say, “In my latest chat with Women’s Health, I shared that I’ve embraced a protein-rich, carb-light eating plan as part of my strategy to surpass my personal aspirations.
She typically begins her morning with a regular breakfast consisting of two cooked eggs, some chicken sausage, and a cauliflower-based hash brown.
At lunchtime, she chooses between a Thai-style chopped chicken salad or lettuce leaves filled with tuna or cooked chicken slices.
Typically, she chooses turkey meatloaf served with creamy cauliflower mash and green beans as her dinner option, offering a fulfilling and well-rounded conclusion to her day.
She makes sure to finish her final meal of the day by 5 p.m.
She mentioned that she suffers from gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), which means her body requires extra time to process meals before bedtime, to prevent stomach acid from reaching her throat.
She maintains an equally disciplined approach to her snacking: opting for low-sugar Greek yogurt accompanied by either blueberries or blackberries, and occasionally adding a touch of honey for a hint of sweetness.
Instead of her daily routine of numerous Frappuccinos, she has replaced them with coffee mixed with vanilla protein powder as an alternative choice.
To clarify, despite her strict dietary regime as “About Damn Time” artist, she occasionally treats herself to some indulgent meals such as chicken tenders and waffles, crab legs, or a donut filled with coconut cream.

‘There’s a balance,’ she said. ‘I think that’s what true health is.’
Her transformation is also supported by a strict fitness routine guided by a personal trainer.
In 2020, Lizzo made headlines by adopting a vegan lifestyle, however, during an appearance on the Just Trish podcast in June, she confessed to frequently relying on pre-packaged, plant-based substitutes.

She mentioned that when she followed a vegan diet, her consumption mainly consisted of plant-based meat substitutes. She also revealed that her meals were predominantly bread and rice. To maintain fullness, she had to eat large quantities of these foods. In actuality, her daily intake ranged between 3,000 and 5,000 calories.
Adopting permanent adjustments encompassed dealing with her food habits, a matter she has candidly discussed due to her battles with disordered eating.
She mentioned, “I associated so much feeling with food, and there was always such a ruckus around it.” Whenever she felt down, worried, stressed, or overwhelmed with work, she would constantly munch on snacks. Later, when everyone had left, she would secretly order two separate meals from a food delivery service, followed by an additional dessert order from another platform.

Today, she’s built a healthier mindset and a more intuitive relationship with food.
As an uncontainable enthusiast, I’d confess that when I unearth a bag of BarkThins, upon reaching the fourth piece, I seal [the bag] away. Then, I’d chide myself, “Melissa, put it back on the table. You’ve had enough.” With a final grasp, I’d snatch one more for later and gulp down gallons of water.
‘I’ve achieved a wonderful equilibrium – now, I can savor things I acquire without succumbing to excess or causing harm. I am incredibly proud of my self-control and progress.’
Lizzo likewise tackled rumors concerning her usage of Ozempic for weight loss. She admitted to trying it out, but ultimately chose not to continue using it.
‘Regardless of whether I achieve this through Ozempic or surgery, I’d still feel equally proud of myself – for it’s all challenging. Anyone who has lived in a larger body understands that it’s not simple. Life itself is tough.’
