K-pop boyband BTS drive fans wild with major update after military service forced hiatus

On Tuesday, the South Korean boyband BTS gathered once more, marking their reunion after about three years. This was following their completion of the 18-month military service that is mandatory for all physically fit male residents of South Korea, which they announced as the reason for their return to work together.

Five-time Grammy nominees, spanning ages 27 to 32, are said to have attracted a massive following of 7.3 million dedicated ARMY fans to watch a 30-minute livestream on Weverse.

‘We’ll be releasing a new BTS album in the spring of next year,’ BTS said in a statement.

Commencing from July, the whole team of seven will delve deep into collaborative work on fresh tunes. Given that this is a collective album, it will encapsulate every member’s perspectives and insights. We are embarking on this project with the same spirit we had when we initially began our journey together.

This extraordinary seven-piece group – J-Hope, Jimin, Jin, Jungkook, Suga, RM, and V – are set to start recording fresh tunes in the United States this month, with plans for a global concert tour on the horizon.

The Bangtan Boys hinted, ‘We plan to meet fans worldwide.’ We eagerly look forward to sharing our excitement with everyone just as much!

Initially, BTS enthusiasts can purchase the first-ever 22-track live album titled “Permission to Dance on Stage”, available July 18. This album was recorded during their 12-concert tour spanning from 2021-2022 that attracted a massive audience of 4 million people.

On Instagram, enthusiasts were thrilled about the return, with user @ebekshsika reacting with a crying emoji: “After such a long time, hearing them welcome back as a complete group!

‘I’ve been waiting so long for this moment, OT7 together again,’ Instagram user @gii_20_06_ gushed.

Instagram user @fatima155039 enthusiastically rattled off their birth names: ‘Kim Nam-joon, Kim Seok-jin, Min Yoon-gi, Jung Ho-seok, Park Ji-min, Kim Tae-hyung, Jeon Jeong-guk, BTS!’

‘Finally we saw them together,’ Instagram user @jeon.jungkook96s wrote.

Instagram user @notaf_lover commented: ‘Honestly the happiest I’ve been since they left.’

‘This was the best,’ Instagram user @bjaleh agreed. ‘I have missed them so much.’

On the 11th of June, following their completion of mandatory military service, singers Jungkook and Jimin were captured in photographs in the area of Yeoncheon-gun.

Previously, the famous leader/rapper RM and vocalist V were captured on camera after completing their obligatory military service in Chuncheon.

As a die-hard fanatic, I can’t help but marvel at the extraordinary achievements of BTS, also known as Bangtan Sonyeondan or ‘Bulletproof Boy Scouts’. With over 40 million records sold under their belt, they consistently attract an astounding 27.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone. Yet, what truly sets them apart is the fact that each of their seven members has surpassed the 2 billion stream mark as solo artists on this platform, a testament to their unparalleled talent and versatility.

This coming Saturday, the solo tour of singer Jin, called RunSeokjin Ep., will take place at Japan’s Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall 4-6 in Chiba. The tour includes 18 dates in total.
