After spending 22 seasons in the NBA, it appears that he has no intention of slowing down. However, people are curious about what LeBron might do after his basketball career – could those years of field goals, free throws, and rebounds be preparing him for a new profession? Intriguingly, someone finally posed this question to the NBA star.

So far, LeBron James has appeared in various films alongside some of today’s most renowned comedic stars. For instance, with a Netflix subscription, you can watch him alongside Amy Schumer and Bill Hader in the movie “Trainwreck”. If you have an HBO MAX subscription, you can catch him acting alongside Don Cheadle in “Space Jam: A New Legacy”. LeBron has also hosted “Saturday Night Live”, demonstrating that he’s no stranger to Hollywood.

Yet, this renowned basketball figure has always played solely as himself, leaving me to ponder if he’d be up for the acting task of embodying a different character. Lately, LeBron shared his views on this prospect in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

It seems to me that the main factor will come down to creative writing and the character I’m given. If I find the character fitting and believe I can excel in it, I wouldn’t hesitate to take on the role. I get the feeling I could step into different personas beyond just being LeBron James. In Trainwreck, my character wasn’t LeBron James, but rather a portrayal of myself as Bill Hader’s friend during that film.

From my perspective, LeBron James demonstrates acting skills that are quite impressive. In the movie “Trainwreck,” for instance, he displays hints of his comedic talent. He performs admirably alongside Bill Hader, with their ‘advice’ scene being a standout moment. Upon rewatching it, I found myself chuckling once more when he suggested ‘splitting the bill,’ which was apparently ‘more beneficial for their friendship.’

In agreement with the NBA star’s perspective, this character appears to be an exaggerated portrayal of his true self, displaying a knack for finding humor in the script while maintaining a lighthearted demeanor that suggests he doesn’t take himself too seriously. It seems this athlete might naturally possess a sense of humor that is unintentional at times. Nonetheless, I believe LeBron James would require carefully selected roles to convincingly fill someone else’s large shoes in the entertainment industry. However, it’s clear that he’s open to taking on such roles.

Absolutely, I’d be interested in exploring new opportunities, especially acting roles if they come up, provided my schedule allows for it after my career. If suitable scripts arrive, I won’t hesitate to consider them and see if I can turn this into a reality.

It appears that an acting career could potentially lie ahead for the All-Stars, though it’s uncertain exactly when that might materialize as he likely intends to continue playing in the league for a few more years. With both him and Bronny now on the same team as a powerful father-son duo, a sports movie featuring them is probably not too far off. However, whether or not it will rank among the greatest sports films ever made remains to be determined.

It’s generally acknowledged that Michael Jordan is often regarded as the best NBA player ever, yet LeBron James can certainly be included in that elite group. However, when it comes to acting, while he might make an appearance among the greatest basketball players of all time, I believe there’s a considerable distance for him to cover in the world of cinema. To put it frankly, I don’t think he’ll ever reach the pinnacle as an actor, but I’m curious to see if he could excel in that field.
