Ferrari Unveils 296 GT3 Evo, an Endurance Racer Sharpened for 2026 Debut

Summary

  • Ferrari reveals 296 GT3 Evo at Spa for 2026 debut
  • Features upgraded aero, cooling, and suspension
  • Available as an upgrade kit for current 296 GT3 owners

The iconic brand Ferrari has disclosed the 296 GT3 Evo, an advancement of their triumphant GT3 and LMGT3 racing platforms, destined to compete in the 2026 season. This vehicle was unveiled at Spa-Francorchamps, following three years since its predecessor, the initial 296 GT3, first appeared on the same track during its debut in 2019.

Based on two years of racing data and customer input, the Evo model has been enhanced to boost aerodynamic stability, adaptability during setup, and component durability. It continues with the 3L twin-turbo V6 engine but now features an adjusted gear ratio for improved torque transmission. The exterior design has undergone changes to minimize sensitivity in turbulent air and boost cooling, especially for the front brakes.

As an enthusiast, I’m thrilled about the visual upgrade – the addition of dual bonnet intakes and a redesigned rear wing with a swift-adjust mechanism. Underneath the hood, the suspension kinematics have been meticulously revamped for enhanced handling and easier pit setup adjustments. Lastly, the cockpit now boasts a robust air conditioning system to ensure driver comfort during those long endurance races.

Ferrari intends to make an upgrade kit available for existing 296 GT3 owners, reflecting the versatile design philosophy behind this model. This vehicle continues a platform that has garnered more than 140 wins and 405 podium finishes in 343 races worldwide. The enhanced 296 GT3 Evo is poised to boost Ferrari’s global GT racing program even further.
