As a gamer diving into Overwatch 2,
How the Overwatch 2 Mythic Shop works
As an avid Overwatch 2 fan, I’m always eager to customize my heroes and weapons with unique skins, and the Mythic Shop is where it’s at! It houses both current and past mythic hero and weapon skins that are exclusively obtained using Mythic Prisms, an in-game currency. To accumulate Mythic Prisms, you need to advance through the paid version of the Overwatch 2 Battle Pass each season. Each seasonal Battle Pass offers enough Mythic Prisms for unlocking one mythic skin and its customizations, with a total of 80 Mythic Prisms up for grabs per season.
How to unlock mythic skins in Overwatch 2
In Overwatch 2, you can utilize your Mythic Prisms to acquire the most recent mythic skin. It takes a total of 80 Mythic Prisms to completely personalize a hero. Additionally, Mythic Prisms can be employed to claim past mythic skins. For instance, the initial level of the mythic Genji skin requires 50 Mythic Prisms, while the subsequent levels cost 10 each. To fully unlock all customization options for Cyber Demon Genji, you will need a total of 80 Mythic Prisms.
In the current season, the iconic hero’s mythic skin is initially released. So, if you don’t grab the Juno mythic skin during Overwatch 2 Season 16, you’ll have to wait an additional two seasons before it appears in the Mythic Shop again.
How to get Mythic Prisms in Overwatch 2
In order to acquire Mythic Prisms, you’ll initially need to upgrade to the premium version of the seasonal Overwatch 2 Battle Pass. This upgrade costs either 1,000 Overwatch Coins or approximately $9.99 USD per season. Subsequently, you need to progress and level up the Battle Pass to gather the Mythic Prisms distributed at various tiers.
In Overwatch 2 Season 13, you’ll earn eight Mythic Prisms for every ten tiers up until tier 78 in the Battle Pass. This implies that at tier 48, you’d have accumulated enough Mythic Prisms (50) to unlock the basic version of a mythic skin. Once you reach tier 78, additional Mythic Prisms will help you unlock further customization levels for the mythic skin.
Overwatch 2 Mythic Prisms cost
To get the premium Battle Pass for each season in Overwatch 2’s Battle Pass, you need 1,000 Overwatch Coins. Alternatively, you can purchase Mythic Prisms individually or in bundles within the game. The bundles come in sizes of 10, 30, 50, and 100 Mythic Prisms. If you buy a bundle of 30, you’ll receive a 20% bonus. For a bundle of 50 Mythic Prisms, you’ll get a 25% bonus, and with the largest bundle of 100 Mythic Prisms, you’ll enjoy a 33% bonus.
To buy Mythic Prisms in the game Overwatch 2, move your mouse pointer over the orange “+” symbol situated in the upper right corner of the in-game store. There, you’ll find the balance of your other Overwatch 2 currencies as well.
