Super woke Charlize Theron blasted by fans over laying into Jeff Bezos $50million wedding festivities
Charlize Theron has faced a whirlwind of criticism due to her “extremely progressive” comments regarding Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s 50-million-dollar wedding.
At a recent charity gathering I attended, the esteemed Oscar-winning star left me, along with many others, utterly astonished. In a playful jest, she casually quipped, “Those who were at the wedding? Well, they may not be the cream of the crop, but us here? We’re the cool kids.
In a playful manner that some perceived as serious, the wealthy actress (estimated to be worth $170 million) made the statement, causing a flurry of reactions on the platform once known as Twitter, where numerous individuals voiced their criticisms and concerns about the Academy Award-winning actress.
At the Block Party charity event held on Saturday, the captivating South African actress graced the stage, where she was lending her support to her own Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project.
49-year-old celebrity reportedly criticized the guest list of the Bezos-Sanchez wedding: “I believe we might be the only ones not invited, but that’s alright because they aren’t great and we are trendy,” she joked, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
One user asserted that she was envious because the person didn’t secure a position like Bezos, while another labeled her as an aspiring imposter, and someone else stated she was unmarried.

I can’t help but notice the obvious envy in her tone as she mumbles under her breath, ‘She didn’t get an invitation?’ Meanwhile, another person couldn’t resist taking a jab, teasingly saying, ‘If only her wedding could compete with the ones she hasn’t even attended!’
‘Who cares?’, ‘Jealousy,’ and ‘she didn’t get invited,’ fans wrote on X.
Some also shared the same viewpoint, expressing it concisely as, ‘they are not good at all,’ or ‘what’s a celebrity’s opinion matter to us?’
Many assumed she was just ‘bitter’ she didn’t get an invite.
Another simply posed the question: ‘Who cares?’
A glamorous wedding took place in Venice, Italy, where celebrities like Tom Brady, the Kardashian family, Ivanka Trump, Oprah Winfrey, among others, were present to grace the event.
However, despite the three-day festivity causing a stir, it was met with opposition from locals who objected to the disturbance and criticized their choice to marry within the historic city’s heart.
In a playful manner, it appeared that the remark was meant humorously, but the actress didn’t mince words when moving on to other topics. She lashed out at the political climate during the Trump era, criticizing it as regressive, and voiced her concerns about immigration, abortion, and LGBT policies, labeling them as backwards.
Actress from “The Monster” expressed gratitude to all participants, acknowledging their contribution even amidst global challenges as things seem to be in flames.
She stated: “In Los Angeles, the United States, and worldwide, we’re swiftly retreating instead of progressing. Policies concerning immigration have disrupted innocent families rather than criminal elements; women’s rights are deteriorating; lives of the LGBTQ+ community are being marginalized; and incidents of gender-based violence are escalating. This isn’t merely a matter of policy, it’s deeply personal,” she emphasized, following up with, “Yes, I strongly condemn them.

Established in 2007 by Theron, the CTAOP organization focuses on investing in and promoting the health and safety of youth in Southern Africa with the aim of creating a more balanced and fair future for everyone, as stated on their official site.
Theron personally relates to the topic of immigration, as she is originally from South Africa but moved to the U.S., only to be deported when she was 19 due to overstaying her work visa, as reported by THR.
Ultimately, she was granted permission to return and in 2007 became a US citizen.
In 2008, she shared with OK! that at the age of 19, she was expelled from Cuba for creating and funding a film about the country.
She cautioned, “It’s not wise to keep taking chances. I became an American citizen just last year,” she mentioned further.
In a 2007 interview with Vogue, she shared that her decision to become a U.S. citizen stemmed from the recent elections, prompting her to think, “If I’m going to call this place home, then I want the right to participate in its democratic process by casting my vote.
I’d rather not just appear knowledgeable; I prefer to actively participate without the constant worry that I might be ousted or excluded.
On a day filled with celebration in downtown Los Angeles, Theron was joined by her mother and many friends when she officially became a citizen during an all-day ceremony.
As a lifestyle advisor, I can share with you that in the heartfelt conversation, Theron mentioned, “I couldn’t help but feel deeply moved when my mom exclaimed, ‘We are Americans!’ You understand, it’s a moment where you rise, pledge your allegiance, receive a personal letter from President Bush welcoming you into this great nation.
Although I may live elsewhere or identify with another culture, there’s an inherent part of me that remains distinctly South African. Regardless of my intentions, it seems unlikely that I could ever completely let go of that.

Last Friday, Bezos and Sanchez tied the knot in an opulent ceremony attended by approximately 200 distinguished guests on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, Italy, a union often referred to as the ‘wedding of the century.’
Among the notable attendees at the wedding ceremony were Leonardo DiCaprio, Kylie Jenner, Usher, Khloe Kardashian, and the latest Bachelor, Orlando Bloom, as they watched Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez exchange their vows.
Upon reaching Venice, my journey was anything but a seamless voyage. My partner and I encountered a wave of disgruntled locals, fiercely protesting against us. They were enraged by rumors suggesting that their concerns – those of the local community – were being overlooked in favor of accommodating affluent tourists like ourselves.
Bezos is worth around $224.6 billion and is thought to have spent tens of millions on his wedding.
In St. Mark’s Square, a large sign stated, ‘Should you choose to rent Venice for your wedding, be prepared to pay higher taxes.’

Greenpeace and the UK-collective Everyone Hates Elon participated in demonstrations in Venice with an aim to disrupt or halt the scheduled wedding festivities of Amazon’s founder, Bezos.
Jeff Bezos, who ranks second in global wealth, has been reported to pay a tax rate of only 1.1%. Meanwhile, it’s said that his upcoming wedding will span across three days, and the cost of the ring alone is estimated to be around $5 million.
Previously, an representative from the group “Everyone Hates Elon” stated this: ‘While officials discuss tough decisions and strive to finance public amenities, Jeff Bezos has the means to halt significant parts of a city for extended periods simply for his wedding.’
The mayors of Venice, Luigi Brugnaro and Luca Zaia, have expressed their support for the highly anticipated wedding, often referred to as “the wedding of the century.” They emphasized that the festivities could generate between $23 million and $34 million for local enterprises.
