Gavin & Stacey star joins Oasis comedy based on ‘iconic music era’
Actor Matthew Horne, known from the show “Gavin & Stacey,” is set to appear in the upcoming comedy series titled “The Battle” which revolves around the well-known music battle between Oasis and Blur.
In this rendition, the play being discussed is penned by John Niven and led by Matthew Dunster. The production aims to portray the intense competition, famously known as the “Britpop War”, that unfolded between two prominent bands during the mid-90s. As each band reached their commercial zenith, this rivalry escalated.
In the popular BBC sitcom, Horne, who played Gavin Shipman, is set to step into the part of Andy Ross, a powerful figure in the music business. This character was unwittingly entangled in one of the most infamous disputes in the annals of the British music scene.
