Elliot Page unveils first public relationship since coming out as transgender man

In a recent development, Elliot Page has announced his first known romantic partnership following his declaration as a transgender man, made public back in December 2020.

This week, the 38-year-old openly disclosed his romantic relationship with actress Julia Shiplett, known for her role in the Amazon Prime comedy series, Overcompensating.

In a heartfelt Instagram post marking Pride Month, Elliot shared a sweet photo of him and Julia snuggling on a colorful rainbow-painted street.

Making it clear what her message was, the actor from The Umbrella Academy added both a rainbow and two heart symbols to the image’s caption.

In the meantime, Julia made their relationship public through Instagram Stories, posting a heartwarming video of Elliot without his shirt.

Above the video that displayed Elliot walking in what seemed like a spring, Julia penned down: ‘happily celebrating Pride.’

daily mail.com hasn’t gotten a reply yet from representatives for both Elliot and Julia, following their request for comment.

Prior to transitioning genders, when they were recognized as Ellen Page, Elliot openly identified as a lesbian and made their coming-out public on Valentine’s Day in 2014.

In the year 2018, Elliot paired up with Emma Portner in a wedding ceremony. Emma openly showed her support for Elliot when he publicly declared his transgender identity in December of 2020.

By early 2021, Emma and Elliot announced that they were ending their marriage, making it clear that they had in fact been apart since the summer of the previous year.

Even though Julia marks the start of Elliot’s public romantic relationships following his transition, it was disclosed two years ago that Elliot had been privately engaged in a vibrant love life.

He shared with the Los Angeles Times in June 2023 that dating has never been more enjoyable for him. Interacting with others seems less complicated and more genuine, as he no longer experiences a sense of self-disorientation or misperception.

Before his marriage to Emma, Elliot had dated actresses like Samantha Jones, Olivia Thirlby, and Kate Mara in his past romantic relationships prior to transitioning.

In his autobiography titled “Pageboy,” he additionally disclosed that, even as he was recognized as Ellen during his twenties, he maintained a clandestine relationship with an actress in the closet for a span of two years.

Regarding his professional endeavors, Elliot has some exciting upcoming projects, one of which is a movie adaption of The Odyssey, to be directed by Christopher Nolan – a director with whom he had collaborated before on the 2010 production, Inception.

Just as before, The Odyssey boasts an impressive ensemble cast with Matt Damon portraying Odysseus and Tom Holland playing the role of his son, Telemachus.

The cast boasts an illustrious lineup of A-list celebrities such as Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, and Lupita Nyong’o.

The gunfire started back in February and has continued since then. We anticipate releasing the completed movie during the summer season of 2026.
