You’ve got just days left to watch this iconic Hugh Grant movie before it leaves UK streamer

In the next few days, the beloved romantic comedy “Four Weddings and a Funeral,” featuring the charming performance of Hugh Grant, will no longer be available on a UK streaming platform.

1994’s movie titled “Five Weddings and a Funeral,” penned by Richard Curtis and helmed by Mike Newell, chronicles a circle of friends who participate in five events specified in the title, frequently encountering blunders and embarrassments along the way.

The narrative revolves around Charles (Grant), a man often on the wrong end of fortune’s wheel, living a bachelor lifestyle by choice. However, his life takes an unexpected twist as he finds himself smitten at first sight with an American lady named Carrie (Andie MacDowell).

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m excitedly sharing that the movie featuring Kristin Scott Thomas and Rowan Atkinson, filled with hilarious blunders, is currently up on BBC iPlayer in the UK. But, folks, don’t dilly-dally too much as it’s set to vanish from the streaming service by 8 July. So, grab your popcorn and enjoy the ride before it’s too late!

Upon its debut, the romantic comedy film garnered both critical acclaim and massive box office earnings, raking in approximately £218 million globally while only requiring a production budget of £3 million. This made it the most profitable British film ever produced at that moment.

The film was highly praised by both critics and viewers. It earned two nominations, one for Best Picture, at the 67th Academy Awards. Notably, it took home the top honor of Best Film at the BAFTAs. On top of that, Grant received the Best Actor award at the BAFTAs, and he also won a Golden Globe Award.

Initially, discussions about a full-length follow-up had been going on for quite some time. However, it wasn’t until the film’s 25th anniversary in 2019 that a continuation was actually produced. This special release brought back the original cast and crew for a short film which was part of Red Nose Day.

As a gamer, I must admit that while Hugh Grant’s iconic portrayal of Charles in “Four Weddings and a Funeral” certainly catapulted him to stardom, his acting journey over the past three decades has been nothing short of extraordinary. Most recently, he’s stepped back into the shoes of Daniel Cleaver in “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy.

In the fourth installment of the series, titled “Mad About the Boy “, Hugh Grant made a comeback to the franchise after sitting out in 2016’s “Bridget Jones’s Baby“. Prior to its premiere, the actor revealed that he had penned certain scenes featuring his character.
