Bridgerton star lands lead role in “thundering” and “cataclysmic” new period drama

Bridgerton star Jessica Madsen has been confirmed as the co-lead in new period drama Bloodaxe.

The upcoming Prime Video series narrates the tale of King Erik Bloodaxe, originating from the mind of Michael Hirst, creator of Vikings, and his brother Horatio.

Presently, Deadline states that Madsen is cast to play Gunnhild, Eric’s wife in the lead role, with Xavier Molyneux from “Neighbors” assuming the part of Eric.

The series chronicles the struggle between the duo over the “rule of Norway,” as the country becomes embroiled in intense rivalries, fluctuating allegiances, and treacherous acts of violence.
