One of the best BBC police dramas that’s “brutal”, “thrilling” and “almost perfection” is now on Netflix

Line of Duty, which first hit our screens back in 2012, is now available to watch on Netflix.

Over six seasons, ending in a controversial finale two years ago, this procedural show has gained cult status in the UK and is often considered one of the finest British police dramas available. As of now, it boasts an impressive 96% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with its first four seasons maintaining a perfect 100% score.

Previously, Digital Spy had praised it as a near-perfect series, The Times found its characters to be memorable and the plot intricate, while the New York Times commented that the second season was both original and surprising, with an even greater level of brutality and excitement.

The TV series, titled “Line of Duty,” primarily revolves around the investigations conducted by the anti-corruption unit AC-12, headed by Superintendent Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar). The main team consists of Detective Inspector Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) and Detective Inspector Steve Arnott (Martin Compston), who collaborate to expose unlawful activities and potential links to organized crime within the police force.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but marvel at the exceptional rogues that have graced the screen in “Line of Duty.” From its inception, the BBC series has drawn an impressive lineup of talents such as Lennie James, Stephen Graham, Keeley Hawes, Thandiwe Newton, Jason Watkins, Anna Maxwell Martin, and Mark Bonnar, each leaving a lasting impact on the show’s seasons.

The popular British television show was originated by Jed Mercurio, known for other successful TV productions such as “Bodyguard,” featuring Keeley Hawes and Richard Madden, and the medical drama “Critical,” penned by Rachel Clarke and Prasanna Puwanarajah, with Joanne Froggatt in the lead role.

Ever since the sixth season finale wrapped up, enthusiasts of the show “Line of Duty” have pondered if there could possibly be another season ahead.

Occasionally, certain cast members of the show have addressed rumors circulating for quite some time. Martin Compston, for instance, disclosed in May that they frequently discuss potential scenarios and schedules, but he emphasized that everyone is rather occupied, implying that any prospective comeback would be delayed (as reported by The Sun)).
