Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos’ A-list guests run for cover as pre-wedding party is ruined by huge freak thunderstorm
On Thursday, due to a massive thunderstorm, it became necessary for the high-profile attendees of Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos‘ pre-wedding gathering, including Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner, to seek shelter.
At Madonna dell’Orto, an opulent celebration kicked off, signifying the beginning of the wealthy duo’s extravagant three-day wedding in Venice, Italy. The festivities will conclude this coming Saturday.
On Thursday evening, the glamorous gathering had to be cut short because of a heavy rainstorm.
Or,
Thursday’s high-profile party ended prematurely as a result of a torrential rainfall.
Both sentences convey the same information in an easy-to-understand manner while maintaining the original meaning.
Visitors sought shelter beneath the arched courtyards as streaks of lightning pierced the heavens and deafening peals of thunder echoed above, marking the culmination of a swelteringly hot day where temperatures had climbed nearly 96.8° Fahrenheit.
Heavy rainfall and powerful gusts of wind drenched the attendees, prompting them to hastily seek shelter in pre-arranged water taxis that arrived about 45 minutes before the official midnight ending.
In this scenario, powerful wind gusts snatched tablecloths off tables and prompted waitstaff to rush around gathering umbrellas to shield the important guests from the elements.

One bystander remarked: “It illustrates that no matter how much wealth one has, they cannot command the weather. An old Italian adage suggests that a bride who gets wet on her wedding day will be blessed with good fortune.
Kim, aged 44, along with her youthful sister Khloe, 40, found it challenging to keep their elegant dresses dry as their protective detail led them towards the assigned water taxi.
Kylie, Kim and Khloe’s younger half-sister, posted a picture on her Instagram Story showing a water taxi that had been soaked by the rain. This was her response to the current weather conditions.
The soon-to-be bride, Lauren, found herself enclosed by men wearing tuxedos and brandishing blue umbrellas, shielding her as she cautiously embarked onto the waiting boat.
55-year-old television host wore an eye-catching dress that was off-the-shoulder, featuring a bold golden corset accentuating her petite waist even more.
As an utterly smitten admirer, I couldn’t help but notice that at the ripe age of 61, Mr. Bezos, who made headlines in 2022 with a staggering $3 million engagement ring, was tailing closely behind Lauren, shielding himself under an umbrella to ensure her every step remained dry and unblemished.
Musician Ellie Goulding, along with another attendee, were seen standing in the rain while they both waited for their boat, demonstrating their patience.
Bezos and Sanchez are set to tie the knot on Saturday in Venice, Italy after a two-year engagement.
200 guests have reportedly been invited by the Amazon tycoon and his future spouse for a three-day wedding celebration in Italy.

On Tuesday, it was revealed that a copy of the invitation from the couple contained a unique request, specifically addressed to their guests.
Instead of buying gifts for them, the hosts have requested that their guests make charitable donations to organizations working towards preventing Venice from sinking. These donations will be made on the guests’ behalf.
The distinguished gathering will feature Leonardo DiCaprio, Mick Jagger, Oprah Winfrey, Orlando Bloom, and Tom Brady.
Bezos is worth around $224.6 billion and is thought to be spending tens of millions on his wedding.
One large sign in St. Mark’s Square proclaimed, ‘If you can afford to host your wedding in Venice, you can manage to pay higher taxes.’
Greenpeace and the UK group Everyone Hates Elon are participating in demonstrations in Venice, aiming to interrupt or block the upcoming wedding festivities of Amazon’s founder, Bezos, this week.
The statement by the two groups reads: “Despite being the world’s second wealthiest individual, Jeff Bezos is reportedly paying a tax rate of just 1.1%, according to their declaration.
The lavish wedding, estimated at millions, is said to span across a period of three days. The cost of the wedding ring itself could reach up to $5 million.
A representative from Everyone Hates Elon stated: ‘While governments grapple with tough decisions regarding funding for essential public services, Jeff Bezos has the means to halt an entire city for several days simply to organize his wedding.’
The mayor of Venice, Luigi Brugnaro, and regional governor Luca Zaia have expressed their support for the upcoming grand wedding, often referred to as “the wedding of the century.” They emphasized that the festivities are projected to generate between $23-34 million for local businesses in the area.
Zaia stated to the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera that this city caters to approximately 150,000 individuals daily. Notably, George Clooney, François-Henri Pinault, Salma Hayek, Alexandre Arnault, Elton John, and several other notable figures chose this location for their weddings.
According to Corriere della Sera and Italy’s ANSA news agency reports, Bezos has promised to make substantial charitable contributions, one of which is a donation of $1.16 million to Corila, an academic group focusing on the study of Venice’s lagoon ecosystem.
This month, banners criticizing Bezos were displayed in Venice from St. Mark’s Tower, with the name “Bezos” written in bold blue letters and crossed out in red, as part of a protest titled “No Room for Bezos.” This is a reference to Jeff Bezos’ space travel company, Blue Origin.
