You need to see the brilliant trailer for Emma Stone’s new sci-fi remake

The captivating first trailer for the sci-fi comedy “Bugonia,” featuring stars Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons, has been released.

In simpler terms, “Bugonia” is a modern adaptation of the 2003 South Korean film “Save the Green Planet!“. The story revolves around a beekeeper (Plemons) who believes in conspiracy theories and abducts a pharmaceutical company CEO (Stone), whom he suspects is an extraterrestrial planning to harm our planet.

Under the direction of Yorgos Lanthimos, who had collaborated with Plemons in the past on “Kinds of Kindness,” the trailer commences with Plemons’s character delivering a soliloquy about the circular pattern of existence linked to queens and bees.

The queen no longer holds power, he declares, as “Basket Case” by Green Day fills the air, accompanying the chaotic events unfolding before us: the kidnapping, what appears to be a police pursuit, and other mischief.

Starring Aidan Delbis, Stavros Halkias, and Alicia Silverstone, the film “Bugonia” is a new adaptation. This adaptation was done by Will Tracy, who previously worked on the screenplay for “The Menu” and also created and developed HBO’s series “The Regime”.

Besides “Kinds of Kindness,” Stone and Lanthimos had also worked together on “The Favourite” and “Poor Things.” The latter film earned the actress her second Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.

Upcoming movie “Eddington,” written and directed by Ari Aster, will soon feature Stone on the big screen. This is before his sci-fi film hits theaters a few months later.

In the present day, Joaquin Phoenix and Pedro Pascal find themselves facing off before a contentious mayoral election in a tiny New Mexico community, as the town grapples with both political and societal upheaval triggered by the COVID-19 crisis.

Besides Stone, Phoenix, and Pascal, Eddington also boasts an impressive ensemble featuring Austin Butler, Luke Grimes, and Michael Ward. The movie had its premiere recently at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, with a nationwide release scheduled for both July and August.

Bugonia will hit the big screens in both the UK and US starting from October, while Eddington is scheduled to premiere in the United States on July 18th and in the UK on August 22nd.
