Viewers slam Nine over ‘irresponsible’ trailer for new season of The Block as they spot one glaring detail – but all is not what it seems
The new season of The Block is airing in a matter of weeks.
Last week, a fresh trailer for the home improvement show Nine aired on their social media platforms, but it didn’t please everyone who watched it.
Multiple Facebook users pointed out an incident where hosts Scott Cam and Shelley Craft appeared to be driving without wearing seatbelts.
In scenic outback landscapes, both Scott and Shelley can be seen driving big rigs without seatbelts on.
It seems that the hosts’ movement is just an act, as they remain stationary while the scenes of motion are added artificially, using cinematic tricks.

Despite some viewers expressing dissatisfaction over the trailer showing scenes that others labeled as ‘reckless’ driving, whether it was genuine or staged.
One person inquired about the seat belts and then commented, “It appears that this is computer-generated imagery (CGI), but it might not be a good model for the children watching, wouldn’t you agree?
A viewer criticized Channel Nine for promoting advertisements during prime time featuring celebrities driving on country roads without seat belts, deeming it reckless and oblivious to the high road toll associated with rural driving.
Perhaps we ought to have fastened our seatbelts” or alternatively, “Why isn’t everyone buckled up? Shouldn’t we be?” These phrases maintain the original meaning while sounding more natural and easy to read.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I can’t help but notice the common complaint about people not wearing seatbelts – it seems quite evident that these individuals may not be behind the wheel… or perhaps they are simply forgetting this essential safety measure.
A viewer commented that older models of Kenworth trucks have seat belts, reasoning that this was the case since they weren’t actually driving. Another viewer concurred with this observation.
‘You don’t need to wear seat belts when you aren’t actually driving lol’ one person reasoned.
Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Channel Nine for comment.

This year’s location for the series is the sleepy Victorian hamlet of Daylesford.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’d say Daylesford, nestled 114 km west of Melbourne, offers an enchanting blend of pristine nature, historical allure, and a thriving local scene that serves as the perfect canvas for our production.
Disclosed images of one finished house suggest that the 2025 edition, due next year, seems to share a striking resemblance in design with an earlier season of the series.
Although Nine hasn’t officially announced the title yet, there are rumors circulating within the broadcast network that the upcoming series might be referred to as a sequel to the 2022 ‘Tree Change’ season, which was filmed in Gisborne, Macedon Ranges, not far from this year’s filming location.
The source stated that the design and quality of the houses bear a striking resemblance to those we encountered in Tree Change.
‘Same vibe, same tones, same country-chic energy.’
Undoubtedly, photos that leaked of a finished property owned by the couple Han and Can reveal many striking resemblances, particularly in their choice of furniture.
One photo displays a cozy dwelling, featuring a spacious, prominent white modular couch as its centerpiece.

The item of furnishing closely resembles the sofas that were seen in Ankur, Sharon, Rachel, and Ryan’s living spaces during the year 2022.
In their living area, there’s a cozy accent wall filled with soft materials, while beige drapes and some atmospheric lighting complete the space.
In awe, I can’t help but gush over the minimalist yet chic open-concept kitchen and living area that boasts a grand fireplace nestled within a striking marble accent wall. This space is truly a testament to understated elegance!
The kitchen seems tailor-made for entertaining, featuring a spacious wine rack and a dedicated refrigerator for wine storage.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but notice the uncanny resemblance between this year’s setup and last season’s, but here’s the twist: an inside source spilled to Daily Mail Australia that their lavish decor aligns perfectly with the current trend for the location.
‘It’s sleek, chic and very on-brand for Daylesford,’ they said.
The show, completed filming on June 1, is expected to debut a bit ahead of its regular schedule, potentially airing during the first week of August.
Although fans are accustomed to heated arguments and excessive theatrics, it seems that this season might take a unique turn, deviating from the usual.

‘There’s actually much less conflict this year,’ one well-placed insider said.
While it might not seem exciting at first glance, there’s an enchanting and inviting quality about this season that could catch even the most ardent supporters off guard.
On the other hand, it was mentioned that some individuals aren’t entirely sure if producers have fully captured the essence of health and holistic lifestyle that Daylesford is famed for.
According to the source, there were many discussions at the beginning about the season potentially focusing on sustainable farming, nutritious diets, and overall wellness – aspects that the town is particularly famous for.
‘But in reality, the houses are still very much classic Block homes.’
