Martin Kove accused of biting, then kissing, ‘Cobra Kai’ co-star Alicia Hannah-Kim’s arm

At a fan convention in Washington state on Sunday, it’s reported that Martin Kove, the actor portraying John Kreese on “Cobra Kai,” had a heated exchange with one of his co-stars, resulting in an alleged hard bite.

According to a police report obtained by The Times, Alicia Hannah-Kim, who plays Kim Da-Eun on Netflix’s series, was walking towards her designated spot when she gently touched Kove’s shoulder to greet him in an area where the show’s cast were socializing. However, Kove’s response seemed to surprise her significantly.

The recurrence of familiar faces from the ‘Karate Kid’ movies and a change in viewpoints contribute to the show’s playful, witty tone.

According to a VIP security officer’s report from the Washington State Summer Convention, when Alicia performed an action, Martin Kove quickly seized her arm and sank his teeth into her upper arm with such force that it seemed like he might draw blood, causing her to cry out in agony. Once Martin Kove stopped biting her arm, he once more took hold of her arm and started kissing the spot where he had bitten her earlier.

When I revealed my arm to the officer, he pointed out that there was a highly conspicuous bite mark on it, which was starting to turn blue and bruise.

After the occurrence, Hannah-Kim, aged 37, along with her partner Sebastian Roche, approached the 78-year-old actor to discuss the matter. However, Kove allegedly reacted angrily, asserting that he was not at fault according to the report. It was at this point that they decided to contact the police.

In the report, it’s stated that Kove confessed to a police officer that he bit his colleague’s arm. He explained that he did it as a joke and thought it would be amusing.

In simpler terms, Xolo Maridueña, as you may know, has been associated with his ‘Cobra Kai’ character since childhood. However, this young actor is now eager to embark on the subsequent phase of his acting career.

According to the report, the officer informed Kove that biting Hannah-Kim is unlawful and might lead to an investigation for assault. There’s a possibility that Kove could face arrest or receive a citation, as mentioned by the officer.

Kove seemed to understand the gravity of the situation, and in response, he appeared to express remorse, even going so far as to issue an apology, all while the officer was present.

Hannah-Kim shared with the officer in private that she preferred not to press charges, yet requested a written report be prepared as a precaution for future occurrences. Regarding the incident, Kove opted against composing a personal statement, according to the document.

In his written declaration, Roche mentioned that Kove became extremely upset with them after they discussed the incident with him and his spouse.

34 years later, Tomita requested from the creators of the Netflix series that they should “infuse a more authentic portrayal” of the character’s background as well as her own.

Hannah-Kim and Kove both play head senseis on “Cobra Kai.”

A spokesperson for Kove, who boasts over 230 acting roles, such as “Death Race 2000,” “Wyatt Earp,” “VFW” and the “Karate Kid” films, did not provide an immediate response when contacted by The Times on Tuesday regarding our request for a comment.
