Intriguingly, a valiant naval officer, portrayed by Mbatha-Raw, finds herself entangled with a seemingly charming defense secretary, played by Madden. However, she later uncovers suspicions that he could be deeply implicated in a potentially perilous plot.
Commander Katherine Decker, portrayed by Mbatha-Raw, serves as the second-in-command aboard the USS Kansas. This vessel is a nuclear submersible and stands among the most destructive armaments globally.
Meanwhile, Madden takes on the role of Secretary of Defense Webb Preston, an individual with a tech-focused past that sets him distinctly apart from conventional politicians. His character description indicates that he is considered innovative and driven, yet this also puts him in potentially dangerous situations due to his unconventional approach.
Apart from his responsibilities as a writer, Mercurio will also take on the roles of showrunner and executive producer for the series titled “Trinity“.
Michael Cuesta is now attached as the director and an executive producer for the first two episodes. At this point, no additional casting information or launch dates have been disclosed.
In the TV show “Bodyguard,” created by Mercurio, Madden portrayed David Budd, who served as the bodyguard to Julia Montague, played by Keeley Hawes, who was the Home Secretary. Since then, Madden has made an appearance on the Prime Video show “Citadel” and is set to return as Mason Kane for the upcoming second season slated for release in 2026.
He had his latest appearance in the neo-noir mystery film “Killer Heat”, sharing the screen with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Shailene Woodley.
