Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness finalize divorce one MONTH after filing

After less than a month of filing, Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness have officially ended their marriage, as Daily Mail has learned exclusively.

On June 12th, a petition for divorce was submitted, officially marking the process. Yet, it wasn’t until June 23rd that this legal documentation became publicly accessible.

Before the verdict was made official, two additional documents were submitted on June 10th. One was titled ‘Qualified Medical Child Support Order’, focusing on the children’s health insurance matters, and the other was a combined document called ‘Findings of Fact/Conclusions of Law.’

In simpler terms, the divorce has been decided upon by the court, but the judge needs to officially approve the decision with their signature once a draft judgment has been submitted.

Daily Mail has reached out to Hugh and Deborra-Lee’s reps for comment. 

Deborah-Lee, the wife of the Wolverine actor, is reportedly receiving a substantial alimony payment, as per a source who previously talked to Daily Mail.

It was disclosed that a mutually agreeable resolution was found, where Deborra expressed satisfaction, involving a substantial alimony payment for her spouse.

After a series of discussions about this financial contract, she ultimately received what she thought was fair. In the end, both parties emerge with a solid financial footing.

‘There is not going to be any drama with this gives closure that she needed.’

Over the past month, I’ve had the unfortunate revelation that my beloved couple, Hugh, aged 56, and Deborra-Lee, 69, have decided to legally sever their 27-year union by filing for divorce. The Daily Mail was first to share this news.

On May 23, the movie producer submitted a grievance in New York, as stated in the documents, all issues seem to have been privately resolved.

Additional documents filed by her attorney also encompass:

1. A notice about prolonging health care coverage.
2. A suggested qualified medical child support order.
3. A New York state case registry form (used for informing the state’s registry about child support orders).
4. The settlement agreement.
5. A proposed judgment of divorce.
6. Certificate confirming dissolution.

All that needed to be done was for the judge to sign off on the judgment, essentially.

In simpler terms, the divorce is ‘uncontested,’ which means that the divorcing couple did not have significant differences or disputes they could not resolve amicably.

According to a different source, they had already figured out the specifics prior to the agreement, including the arrangement for alimony, child support, and the costs associated with their kids’ future, as reported by Daily Mail.

‘They are amicable and they are both fully committed to being the best parents that they can be.’

They added that Jackman is ‘looking forward to the future and not looking back.’

Not long after it was announced that their divorce papers had been filed, Furness stunned fans with a statement where she used the term ‘betrayal’, expressing the difficult and painful experiences she had been through.

In an email to Daily Mail, Deborra-Lee expressed her heartfelt empathy towards anyone who has experienced the painful journey of betrayal. She described it as a severe wound that runs deep, but she trusts in a higher force or divine power that is constantly working on our behalf.

She went on to say, ‘This conviction has aided me in managing the dissolution of a nearly thirty-year marriage. From this ordeal, I’ve acquired significant understanding and insight. It seems that even when we encounter what appears as hardship, it ultimately steers us towards our highest wellbeing, our authentic destiny.’

Over time, finding your way back to who you truly are, adhering to your personal principles, and setting your own limits can bring a sense of release and independence.

She ended her remark by sharing the key lesson she’s gathered, which is ‘everything happens impersonally.’ She further noted, ‘Each of us is navigating our unique paths, and I firmly believe that the connections in our lives are not mere coincidences.’

It emerged later that Furness and Jackman decided to share their luxurious $24M penthouse in New York City.

Despite not disclosing specifics about their division of the total $387 million wealth, it is known that the former couple has agreed to evenly divide their $24 million real estate property in Manhattan.

On June 2nd, Jackman and Furness submitted city records concerning their respective portions of their previous shared residence, as evidenced by papers acquired by Daily Mail.

In 2022, the couple jointly acquired a three-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom penthouse valued at $21.12 million, which was not initially on the market. However, there has since been a change in ownership for this property.

The Australian charmer was lately seen making an entrance at the Minetta Lane Theatre, dressed casually yet attractively, preparing for his off-Broadway production titled ‘Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes.’
