Watch now! BBC adds “sensational” thriller with an unforgettable ending
The BBC has made Saltburn available for streaming on iPlayer following its television debut on BBC One last night.
The upcoming second movie by the director of Promising Young Woman, Emerald Fennell, is a story that unfolds during the mid-2000s era, delving into social class differences and the chilling grasp of an obsessive killer.
Launched towards the end of 2023, this production gained immense popularity thanks to controversial sequences featuring Jacob Elordi’s bathtub, a tombstone, and Barry Keoghan’s dramatic striptease performance.

20 years after reaching its peak in the UK, Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s “Murder on the Dancefloor” song, which was included in the film’s ending, climbed back up to the #2 spot on the UK charts due to the immense popularity of the movie.
Saltburn was well-received by both film critics and audiences. On Rotten Tomatoes, it garnered a 71% approval rating from critics and an impressive 79% score from viewers.
The film was described by Mashable as “intentionally gritty, brutally raw, fiercely intense, and unsettlingly captivating,” whereas Loud and Clear referred to it as a “thought-provoking critique of our culture.
In outlets such as the Minneapolis Star Tribune and Wall Street Journal, Keoghan’s performance was highly acclaimed as the standout element of the entire film.
The Observer stated that Barry Keoghan’s captivating central performance deserves more praise than words can express.
It’s not universally appreciated that the movie titled “Saltburn“. Our take at Digital Spy, in a balanced critique, was that it struggles with an excess of style over substance.
The movie is made in such a way that it requires just one perfect take, but it seems more focused on creating shocking moments rather than providing something truly memorable as an additional observation.
Saltburn is now available to stream on BBC iPlayer, and is also available on Prime Video.
Experience the debut of Digital Spy’s first printed magazine! Get your hands on “British Comedy Legends” at local newsagents or online stores, now available for only £3.99.
