AC/DC fans rage over high voltage ticket prices as the Australian rock legends head Down Under for first tour in a decade: ‘I paid $30 in the 1990s’
Australian rock legends AC/DC are headed to Australia in November for the first time in a decade.
Legendary band, established in 1973, will be performing an impressive series of huge stadium concerts during their worldwide Power Up Tour in November and December.
Meanwhile, although many fans eagerly anticipate the upcoming concerts, some took to social media on Monday to express their frustration over the expensive ticket costs.
On Facebook, a user mentioned that the cheapest ‘Ultimate’ A-Reserve seats for AC/DC’s concerts in Australia are priced at an impressive $407.70, whereas general admission standing tickets will set you back by $305.75.
Other prices listed include $203.80 for A-Reserve seating and $132.45 for B-Reserve seats.

‘That’s a lot of money to hear B-DOW BAMP B-DAMP,’ joked one fan on the thread.
Added another social media user, ‘For a band like this should offer prices for kids aged under 18.
Alternatively, we could provide family plans. It’s an excellent method to motivate children to accompany their parents, learning about the role of a band together.
Simultaneously, many fans posted about their past concert encounters and the affordable ticket prices linked with the band during its peak popularity.
‘I’ve got a ticket at home from the 90s that cost $30ish?’ recalled one longtime fan.
One person mentioned, “A concert for $50 titled ‘Razors Edge’ tour happening at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on November 1991.
Led by Brian Johnson and legendary guitarist Angus Young, AC/DC is set to perform in key cities such as Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth, and Brisbane.
From June 26th onwards, tickets will become available for purchase, rolled out progressively through Ticketek and Ticketmaster at different intervals.

On November 12, the band AC/DC will commence their Australian tour at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Following this, they will move on to the Accor Stadium in Sydney on November 21.
After that, the renowned rock band is scheduled to perform at the BP Adelaide 500 Final on November 30, followed by a concert in Perth’s Optus Stadium on December 4.
They will conclude their Australian tour with panache by performing a final concert at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium on December 14.
On every scheduled date, the high-energy Australian punk group Amyl and the Sniffers will be performing. They’re expected to energize the audience with their lively performance prior to the main act taking the stage.
The Power Up Tour has been creating quite a stir internationally, selling over two million tickets in Europe and North America. This includes no less than ten sold-out concerts in the United States.
It was previously speculated that AC/DC might announce a worldwide stadium tour in 2020, with Brian Johnson returning as the lead vocalist.
Brian’s hearing problems forced him to leave the band mid-tour in 2016.
For a specific period, the band was fronted by Axl Rose, the lead singer of Guns N’ Roses, who filled in as the vocalist during their subsequent performances.
The lead singer, who was 77 years old, was told by doctors that he needed to stop performing live concerts or risk permanent hearing damage.

‘That was the darkest day of my professional life,’ Brian said of the diagnosis at the time.
AC/DC was formed in Sydney in November 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young.
After Bon Scott, the lead singer, tragically passed away due to acute alcohol poisoning at the age of 33 in 1980, Brian was brought in as his replacement.
Rhythm guitarist Malcolm was diagnosed with dementia in 2014 and retired to a Sydney nursing home.
He died on November 18, 2017, at the age of 64.
