The popular role-playing game, “Tower of God: Great Journey,” developed by NGELGAMES, has announced its closure. After operating for two years, the game will officially end on August 20, 2025, not just in some regions but globally, including Japan and Korea.

The shutdown was announced due to a forced change in the partner service environment

According to a post shared on social media and an announcement within the game by GM Headon, it was sadly announced that due to both internal and external obstacles, the decision has been made to close the game. Every effort was made to keep it running.

As stated in the announcement, the team responsible for creating and distributing the game has been engaged in lengthy negotiations with their collaborators to find ways to keep the game running. Unfortunately, an unexpected shift in the service conditions imposed by their current partner made it impractical to ensure smooth operation of the game.

Due to the present situation, it was decided by the team that the game had to be suspended. For any queries regarding refunds, please note that the developers themselves can’t handle these matters. Instead, you should contact your specific app store for help with refunds or cancellations.

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but share my excitement about the mobile version of Tower of God: Great Journey! This captivating game is an adaptation of the highly acclaimed webtoon, Tower of God, and it delivers character-driven idle RPG gameplay that truly brings the story to life.

The game made its grand entrance in 2022, generating quite a buzz among fans worldwide. In anticipation of its release, pre-registrations were opened, creating a wave of excitement across the Western hemisphere. Fast forward to February 14, 2023, and the wait was finally over – we could all start our own incredible journey within the Tower!

After August 20, 2025, it won’t be possible to play Tower of God: Great Journey anymore due to its shutdown. However, fans of Tower of God can still enjoy the game Tower Of God: New World by Netmarble, which is approaching its second anniversary in July.
