Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster look as loved-up as ever as they mark their anniversary in Portofino – where they said ‘I do’ 18 years ago

On Saturday, Rod Stewart and his wife Penny Lancaster were seen showing affection while enjoying the Italian sun during their shopping trip.

Sir Rod and Penny, both in their 50s and 80s respectively, are marking their 18th wedding anniversary by going back to the place where they got married in 2007.

Rod and Penny walked the streets of Portofino, where they exchanged vows almost 20 years ago.

Penny put on a leggy display in a stylish beige dress that she paired with a brown Chanel handbag. 

While Rod was appropriately clad for the pleasant temperature, he exuded an elegant air in a crisp white shirt and stylish, striped beige pants.

He donned a hat as a means of shielding himself from the sun while they shopped at upscale stores like Mingo and Louis Vuitton.

In 2005, they became engaged following seven years together as a couple. Since then, their relationship has continued to flourish and grow stronger.

On Instagram, Penny posted a picture capturing their moment of relishing seafood during their anniversary getaway.

As it featured both of them wearing bibs, she joked: ‘Making a mess of ourselves.’

In a subsequent photo, labeled with a heart emblem, the duo was caught grinning while enjoying ice cream cones.

To celebrate their anniversary, the pair retraced significant spots from their love narrative by embarking on a trip aboard the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express train.

Sharing a glimpse of their vacation, Penny posted a picture of her and Rod standing by the train station.

She was stunning, wearing a pink floral shirt paired elegantly with a matching skirt and high-heeled shoes.

The musician known for “Maggie May” has eight kids from five distinct mothers. Two of these children, his sons Alastair, age 19, and Aidan, aged 14, are shared with his third spouse, Penny.

Rod is married to model Rachel Hunter, who is 55, and they have two children: Liam, 30, and Renee, 32. On the other hand, Kimberly, 45, and Sean, 44, are from his previous marriage to actress Alana Stewart, who is 79.

Ruby, aged 37, is the daughter born from a past relationship with model Kelly Emberg, now 65. Rod’s eldest child, Sarah Streeter, is 61 years old and was brought up by her adoptive parents Gerald and Evelyn Thubron.

Throughout his lifetime, Rod has been in numerous relationships, but in 2021, he referred to Penny as “the most stunning woman I’ve ever encountered.

He shared with the Press Association that the song “I Can’t Imagine” on his 32nd album, titled “Tears of Hercules,” was composed as a tribute to his spouse.

It features the lyric: ‘I can’t imagine walking up with anybody else but you.’
