Lucy Spraggan reveals she can only speak to Simon Cowell via his partner Lauren Silverman for an unusual reason despite their close bond
Lucy Spraggan has disclosed that her unique method of communicating with Simon Cowell is exclusively via his partner, Lauren Silverman, due to an unconventional circumstance, despite the strong bond they share.
Over time, the singer (aged 33) and the music industry veteran (aged 65), have nurtured a strong friendship. In fact, during Lucy’s marriage to Emilia Smith, it was Simon who escorted her down the aisle on her special day.
However, reaching out to Simon isn’t straightforward because, as he confessed, he doesn’t personally use a mobile phone.
In conversation with The Sun, she mentioned: ‘I frequently chat with Lauren. However, since Simon doesn’t have a phone, I talk to him whenever Lauren is on the call.’
On multiple instances, Lucy and her spouse have visited Simon and his partner, Lauren, at their lavish residences in Los Angeles and the Cotswolds. They’ve also taken a trip together to Barbados for a vacation.

Lucy remembered: ‘At our ceremony, he recited a sweet poem. He also told me, “It’s beautiful to see you so happy.”‘
It seems that Eric, Simon’s son, is showing a resemblance to his father in the field of music, as Lucy mentioned that he provided guidance for her new album titled “Other Sides Of The Moon,” which came out on Friday.
She mentioned that Eric provided her with drum suggestions for the upcoming album. He reminds her of a mini version of Simon, being both witty and incredibly intelligent. Moreover, Eric clearly knows his mind when it comes to that youngster.
In 2012, the singer didn’t encounter Simon Cowell during The X Factor competition as he was not serving as a judge on her season.
In 2021, I found myself reaching out to an individual who I hadn’t been close with for quite some time. The circumstances under which we reconnected were far from ideal, but as fate would have it, this unexpected interaction marked the beginning of a friendship that has since grown and flourished.
2023 saw me bravely sharing a deeply personal experience from my time on The X Factor: During a night of partying with Rylan Clark, I was tragically violated in the hotel room I was assigned, by an employee – a porter. This incident has undeniably left a lasting impact on me, but I choose to use my voice to shed light on such issues and encourage others to do the same.
At the time, when she quit the show, it was said to be down to illness.
In her autobiography, Process, for the very first time, she disclosed that the sickness she experienced was a result of severe side effects from PEP medication – a treatment prescribed by doctors to prevent HIV contraction.

11 years ago, I made a decision to keep something hidden, a secret weighing heavily on my heart. Over time, the fear subsided and was replaced by a growing sense of truthfulness and authenticity. Today, I’ve chosen to unveil that truth, as I believe there is no greater freedom than standing naked before the world with nothing to hide. It’s not about seeking validation or attention; it’s about embracing transparency and living life in alignment with my core values. After all, a lifestyle expert strives to live and share authentically, and that’s exactly what I aim to do.
People noticed and commented, saying, ‘Thank you for bringing up that topic or the other; it triggered feelings of deep embarrassment in me, but I have no qualms about anything.’
‘And I think that’s a nice place to be.’
Later on, Simon extended an apology for his behavior during the ITV show. This apology helped mend a neglected aspect within Lucy that she wasn’t aware required healing.
She pondered on her feelings about the apology, saying, “Whether forgiveness comes easily or not really depends on the individual.
Forgiving someone becomes significantly less challenging once they offer an apology, which is quite significant to me. In fact, I devote a considerable amount of effort towards understanding and practicing forgiveness in various situations.
‘They say like hating people is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die.

Currently, I hold no grudges and I sincerely hope that everyone, without exception, finds peace and good health in the world.
Lucy, having been formerly wedded to Georgina Gordon until their separation in 2019, shared that she and Emilia currently do not intend to start a family together.
Her married life has sparked her musical inspiration, as evidenced by the title of her newest album being drawn from her personal love narrative.
She shared with TopMob about her relationship with her partner, stating that they had been close friends for around a decade. At the same moment, they both realized their feelings and acknowledged, “I am deeply in love with you.
‘Then I wrote the song Other Sides Of The Moon and it’s about looking at the same moon.
Although we’ve both been gazing at the very same moon throughout our journey, it was just that we were situated on opposite sides of it. However, now we find ourselves standing together, viewing this celestial body from the same perspective.
