EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy shuts down ‘disgusting’ false cancer hoax after fan concern: ‘It is completely made up and a terrible story’

Actress Natalie Cassidy, best known for her role on EastEnders, has debunked the distasteful speculation suggesting she is battling breast cancer.

On a Friday, the actress, aged 42, used Instagram Stories to dispel a hurtful rumor that was circulating in an EastEnders Facebook fan group.

According to the story, the star had broken down in tears when she was given the diagnosis.

The title stated: ‘Natalie Cassidy Cries Out as She Shares Her Breast Cancer Diagnosis: “I Kept It a Secret…”‘

This is appalling and shameful. Many individuals are experiencing this, and I’ve received messages inquiring about my wellbeing.”

‘This is despicable and disgraceful. Lots of people are dealing with this, and I’ve had queries regarding my state.

It is completely made up and a terrible story. Take this down whoever you are.’

The persistent gossip trails the actress, who recently departed from her lengthy stint playing Sonia Fowler on the BBC daytime drama series in April.

Prior to her departure, she was entwined in a dramatic narrative where she was falsely accused of committing murder.

It was later discovered that Reiss Colwell, who appeared with her on screen (portrayed by Jonny Freeman), was the one who committed the heinous act.

She dramatically departed on a speedboat, accompanied by her sister Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer), daughter Bex (Jasmine Armfield), and infant Julia, following a confrontation that ended with her father Terry Cant (Glen Davies) being locked inside a garage.

After quitting EastEnders, the actress has been keeping quite occupied with various ventures, one of which is a BBC documentary tracing her experiences as she trains to become a caregiver.

She is also the host of the Channel 4 consumer show Britain’s Best Buys.

For quite some time now, I’ve been an integral part of the EastEnders community, making my debut as Sonia in 1993 at the tender age of 10.

Another actress who portrays a character on a soap opera, Lisa Riley from Emmerdale, has also found herself caught up in recent gossip circulating online, just like her.

Lisa – AKA Mandy Dingle – was recently forced to issue a warning to fans about AI impersonators.

In a video, Riley, aged 48, stated, “If something doesn’t align with what I believe – and that belief is represented by the blue tick – then it’s not authentic.

‘It is AI pretending to be me, and there is nothing I can do about it.

‘It’s a hoax, it’s a scam and it’s a lie.

For your sake, I implore you not to interact with it in any way. Do not click on it, do not trust its content, and do not even glance at it. Please ignore it completely.

‘It’s not true.’

Riley learned with dismay that certain admirers had unwittingly shared their financial data with con artists posing as her on the internet.
