No more Secret for Puppey: Joins Parker to play for Edge in South America

With his former team no longer participating in The International 2025 and EWC, Puppey finds himself switching both teammates and regions. Could this be the chance he’s been waiting for to stage a remarkable return?

Besides being the victor of the initial The International and an esteemed player, Clement “Puppey” Ivanov is also the proprietor of Team Secret. This surprising turn of events comes from his recent declaration as the new hard support player for Team Edge based in South America.

Following their unsuccessful bid for The International 2025, the Peruvian team decided to part ways with two of its members: Yheremi “payk” Arroyo and Junior “Yadomi” Rimari. As whispers about new local recruits filled the air, one name stood out prominently. David “Parker” Nicho Flores, who is currently on Team Secret’s bench, had previously competed in the South American Closed Qualifiers with “Team Sin Compromiso” (“The Uncompromising Team”), earning a fourth-place finish after losing to OG.LATAM.

With Puppey and Parker on their side, Edge is striving to rule over PGL Wallachia S5. This team, unfortunately, missed out on qualifying for the Esports World Cup, adding some tension as they aim to excel in the upcoming tournaments this season.

Is Puppey officially out of Team Secret after joining Edge?

There’s no official word from Team Secret regarding Puppey. Their official channels seem quiet, and given his usual social media inactivity, it’s hard to get a read on him. Similarly, Edge’s post doesn’t explicitly confirm any signings; instead, they refer to both players as potential “reinforcements.

As a die-hard fan, it seems that the team might be going through a trial period before The International 2025, which means I won’t know for sure about Puppey’s fate until after Wallachia concludes. Additionally, one hurdle we may face is that some of Edge’s players have limited English proficiency, potentially creating a significant obstacle when it comes to fostering team synergy if the roster remains unchanged.

What are Edge’s chances at PGL Wallachia S5?

Payk stands out as one of South America’s most gifted carry players, and Yadomi’s expertise proved beneficial. Edge came close to overthrowing HEROIC, the undisputed rulers of their region, during the TI 2025 qualifiers, a remarkable feat before they brought on board Puppey and Parker. The team showed clear signs of progress, but success in matches eluded them consistently.

Meanwhile, Parker continues to be a highly debated figure within the region. His dismissal from HEROIC due to allegations of unacceptable conduct was followed by his joining Team Secret alongside Puppey. This move ignited a surge of backing from the Peruvian fanbase, with many viewers believing that Puppey’s calming leadership and authority would be beneficial for Parker.

Despite Team Secret showing improved gameplay with Puppey and Parker sharing the same lane, their progress was hindered as they participated in four qualifiers without any victories. Regrettably, they were unable to secure a spot in any major tournaments during 2025. Consequently, Team Secret’s Dota 2 division has yet to yield a return on investment for quite some time.

After securing victory in PGL Wallachia S2 alongside HEROIC, Parker has encountered difficulties finding a permanent team. His tenure at Secret didn’t showcase his present abilities, and the subsequent squads he joined also failed to thrive.
