Clash Royale is set to introduce Spirit Empress as the 9th Champion Card
Story Highlights
- Clash Royale is expected to introduce a new Champion card in Spirit Empress in Season 73.
- This would mark the second Champion release in just three months following the Boss Bandit.
As an ardent fan, I’m thrilling at the prospect of a fresh addition to my Clash Royale arsenal! The rumors are swirling about a brand-new Champion card on the horizon, and it seems the enigmatic Spirit Empress might be making her debut. While nothing is officially confirmed yet, whispers suggest she’ll grace the arena as our 9th Champion Card, hailing from a Dragon/Rider hybrid category. Can’t wait to see her soaring into action!
Leaked previews reveal two versions of the Spirit Empress card in Clash Royale
It appears that based on leaks and previews from content creators, Clash Royale is planning to introduce a new Champion card for Season 73, called the Spirit Empress. Content creators have received “New Card Preview” teaser boxes showcasing one of the two variations.
As per the description, the Spirit Empress manifests in two different forms. One form is a ground unit that requires 3 Elixir, while the other is a flying unit on a Spirit Dragon, which costs 6 Elixir. From its appearance, it seems that the Spirit Dragon version is the larger of the two troops.
The two cards bear the same title and visuals, fueling theories they might transform in combat or be connected to their unique champion traits. However, at this point, there’s no definitive confirmation on these assumptions as no official gameplay footage has been released yet.
It’s quite unexpected, considering that Clash Royale just introduced the Boss Bandit as a Champion in the Season 70 ‘Tale of Thieves’ update from April 2025. Typically, having one Champion card would be commonplace, but receiving two within a span of three months is certainly unanticipated.

At present, it’s only hearsay. However, rest assured, it will become official. For now, we’re waiting on some gameplay previews, specifically visuals. So, keep an eye on this spot for updates.
