If you’re excited to engage in intense battles within the Competitive Play mode of Overwatch 2, it might be wise to hold off for a moment while Blizzard addresses a significant issue. At present, there’s a bug lurking around that could lead to extended penalties.

Overwatch 2 crashing in Circuit Royale

In the Competitive Play mode of Overwatch 2, once you’ve picked your hero, chosen hero bans, and entered your team’s starting area in Circuit Royale, there’s a possibility that you’ll be able to pick your two Perks before the game begins. This is an uncommon feature since usually, players have to earn them. However, if you attempt to select a Perk, it will appear as though it’s not functioning. Eventually, all players are kicked out of the match.

Overwatch 2 Perks bug in Circuit Royale

During our attempts to accumulate matches on Circuit Royale with Torbjorn for the Season 16 Competitive Drive event in Overwatch 2, the game unexpectedly froze and disconnected us. Upon trying to re-enter, the game crashed repeatedly. This unfortunate series of events led to a temporary ban from Competitive Play.

Before the situation took a turn for the worse, we reached out to a fellow player involved in our game. They affirmed that they too experienced the issue, be it a glitch or bug.

Multiple threads on the game’s subreddit mirrored this issue, with users such as ZembleArts and Rabid-Squid sharing their experiences by making posts about it. Numerous players in the comments corroborated the existence of a bug related to the Overwatch 2 Circuit Royale Perks.

ZembleArts mentioned, “I received a temporary ban from the competition for the first time in years due to an issue in the game’s code. Well, that’s exciting. If you were intending to participate in the competition, it might be wise to hold off until they fix this problem.

It appears that the issue with the game crashing and logging out players isn’t limited to Circuit Royale alone. As reported by user thealswood2, this problem seems to be occurring in Overwatch 2 within both the Shambali Monastery and Junkertown maps as well.

As of when this article was released, Blizzard has yet to provide any updates regarding the Overwatch 2 game crash issue. Fingers crossed that it gets resolved promptly.
