In the upcoming role, Doherty (previously seen in the BBC series “Chloe”) takes on the character of Lela. Accompanied by her 11-year-old child, she seeks refuge in a park while on the run. The narrative then unfolds with the promise that this setting will bring a troubled family back together, lay ghosts and demons to rest, and spark an unforeseen love connection.
Additionally, it was revealed that Bill Nighy and Helena Bonham Carter, famous for their work in film and television, will be playing Lela’s parents Jerry and Eddie at California Avenue. Tom Burke, known for his role in BBC’s Strike, has also been cast as the charismatic outsider character, Cooper.

This upcoming series will be brought to you by Drama Republic, the creative minds behind popular productions such as Netflix sensation One Day and BBC drama starring Suranne Jones, Doctor Foster.
