Bethenny Frankel reveals sentimental reason for Florida move and how her daughter is adjusting to the relocation

She has relocated from the Big Apple to the Sunshine State this past year.

Now Bethenny Frankel has shed more light on what prompted her to permanently relocate to Florida. 

In an interview with Us Weekly on Tuesday, Bethenny explained that the idea of living in her Miami apartment permanently seemed distinctively appealing to her following her purchase last year.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I find myself sharing an insightful tidbit: I, much like a Real Housewife of New York City alum, have discovered an unexpected truth – I’ve spent significantly more time at my sun-kissed Florida abode than initially anticipated.

Because of this, she mentioned that she began giving serious thought to relocating herself and her 15-year-old daughter Bryn away from their current home town and moving towards the southern region instead.

She reminisced about her childhood memories, as she had attended high school in Florida since she was a young girl, a tradition that started from when she was just a baby.

Last year, when I bought my Miami property, I had planned to be there for a specific duration. However, it turned out that I was spending more time there than I initially anticipated.

Pondering over the events leading up to her relocation, she acknowledged: ‘I began to sense a strong connection, as if I belonged there, even before the entire situation unfolded.’

She went on to say, ‘Indeed, I found living here to be distinct from visiting. It felt different, but in a positive manner.’

The entrepreneur shared with the media that her 16-year-old daughter Bryn has adapted smoothly to their relocation. “She’s my ray of sunshine,” she expressed. “We’re a family who thrives near water.

Back in April, Bethenny revealed that she and her daughter were planning a move to Florida for both personal and work-related motives, which left some fans speculating whether the change of location might be politically motivated.

Previously, Bethenny shared that she chose to leave New York City due to a particular reason, confessing she felt overwhelmed, almost as if she were struggling to keep afloat – hence, she opted to relocate to Florida together with her daughter.

That same month, she listed her $8 million mansion in Connecticut for sale. 

In an early May TikTok video, she explained that a sequence of incidents occurred earlier in the year, leading her to make the decision to put their house up for sale.

On March 19th, the idea hadn’t crossed our minds in the morning, but as the day unfolded with a sequence of incidents, we concluded by nightfall that relocating here was the most prudent action. This is what the celebrity shared.

Instead of stating it directly, she mentioned that, after giving it some thought, she chose to place their residence on the market, but she intends to keep her NYC apartment. Her plan then shifted towards purchasing a home in Florida instead.

Over the course of just about a month and a half, I managed to complete two real estate transactions – selling and buying properties in two distinct locations. I’ve decided to retain this apartment, but I’ve sold my previous home and purchased a house in sunny Florida.

Frankel expressed that residing only with her daughter Bryn, who is shared with her former spouse Jason Hoppy, in a house that felt excessively large was overwhelming her.

She mentioned that it was only her and another person, while describing the scene. The property she’s referring to is quite substantial, and she chose to purchase it at a point in her life when she was at a different phase.

‘I thought it would be this, like, big family home and that I’d be entertaining there a lot.’ 

She went on to say: “The house seemed overwhelming due to its apple orchard, rich history, expansive land, and stunning beauty – making it perfect for a large family with children and grandparents.

Originally, it became a spot where I spent considerable hours by myself since I wasn’t acquainted with many locals within the community. Essentially, it was isolating.

She opted not to be ‘alone at home,’ so she decided to streamline their living area instead.

She clarified that what seemed straightforward to her turned out to be complex for others, as she remains in a lovely dwelling. However, she admitted that the concept was more appealing than the actual execution.

Frankel mentioned that initially, she had intended to reduce the size of her home within the next four years once her daughter left for college. However, due to an unexpected event or turning point, also known as ‘a moment’, she chose to make this change sooner rather than later.

I found myself overwhelmed by the circumstances, yet there was another matter catching her attention, and we both seemed to tacitly agree not to voice our feelings openly. This was simply how things were for us, as she hinted mysteriously.

When she became the focus, I found the courage to acknowledge my true feelings, which brought liberation for both of us. I believe I’ll feel more carefree, radiant, and joyful in the upcoming months. Frankel expressed: ‘I’m eagerly looking forward to this new phase.’
