Kim Zolciak’s money woes revealed: Housewives star owes more than $1.8 million in taxes and fees

It appears that Kim Zolciak might have to ask her daughter Ariana Biermann for additional loans, as it’s been disclosed exclusively by DailyMail.com that she currently owes over a million dollars in taxes and various charges.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share my concerns about the Bravo star who’s been going through a tough time lately. After moving into their new rental home back in January for $2.75 million, they were unfortunately evicted by U.S. Marshalls just four months later in April.

As a lifestyle advisor, I find myself compelled to share a challenging situation faced by a former Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member. Unfortunately, she’s experienced the distressing loss of her home and now finds herself burdened with an astounding debt. This debt totals close to two million dollars, owed not only to individuals but also to legal professionals and credit card companies alike.

At this moment, her reported debt stands at a staggering $1,800,451, as documented in multiple court records and tax claims. Yet it’s worth noting that this figure might increase further, taking into account accumulated interest and additional penalties related to late payments.

Kim, a past member of the Atlanta Falcons’ defensive line, currently owes the government a total of $1,147,834.67, an amount that remains unpaid.

In April 2023, a federal tax lien was registered against them due to unpaid taxes amounting to approximately $1,157,834.37 from three different years: $714,143.90 for the 2018 taxes, $330,126.29 for the 2017 taxes, and $103,564.48 for the 2013 taxes. This debt exceeds $1 million in total.

In March 2023, a state tax lien of $15,104.72 was imposed on the Biermanns in Georgia. This debt remains unpaid, and as of now, the total amount due is $17,610.40. This payoff amount is valid until July 7, after which it could potentially rise.

To add more information, a legal claim was submitted against Kim and Kroy in August 2024, over an outstanding balance of $7,972 on their previous matrimonial home due to unpaid property assessments. The total sum may include late charges, accrued statutory interest, collection costs including attorney fees, and any additional amounts owed as stated in the filing. Unfortunately, this debt has yet to be settled.

In October 2023, a judge ordered Simmons Bank to collect $226,836.22 from the Biermanns, along with additional fees, due to their default. However, as of October 2024, according to a filing made by FIFA (obtained by DailyMail.com), the Biermanns have yet to pay the initial sum of $226,836.22, as well as foreclosure fees ($2,071.57), attorney fees ($1,945.31), interest ($178.51), and court costs ($322). This brings their total unpaid amount to $231,353.61.

In February 2024, a legal claim for unpaid attorney fees totaling $33,191.65 from Kim’s divorce case with Kroy was submitted by attorney David Beaudry of Meriwether & Tharp.

As per the submitted document, the overall figure might grow along with accrued interest. The DailyMail.com attempted to get a statement from Beaudry regarding this matter.

The mounting legal expenses for the reality TV personality are growing due to her attorneys’ services, and she additionally owes attorney Rachel Snider of Snider & Snider Family Law around $143,950.91 in connection with her divorce settlement with Kroy.

In the year 2024, Snider submitted three attorney’s liens: one on May 15 for $11,788, another on May 31 for $77,019.91, and a third on October 25 for $55,143. Since the court records indicate that there will be compounding interest at an annual rate of 18%, these liens are expected to grow in size over time.

The legal claims made by Snider, which the attorney hasn’t been compensated for yet, remain unpaid. We’ve attempted to contact her for a statement on this matter through DailyMail.com.

In March 2024, Kim was found to have defaulted on a debt to Target/TD Bank, resulting in a court order being issued against her. This order allowed for a Writ of Execution (or Writ of Fieri Facias), which enables the sheriff to seize her assets if necessary. According to the court judgment, she owes a total of $2,661.09, which includes the initial loan amount, court costs, and accrued interest after the judgment was made.

Since 2018, Kim has been embroiled in a legal dispute with American Express. In September 2021, American Express submitted an affidavit seeking ongoing garnishment against the celebrity due to her failure to fulfill a default judgment totaling $215,847.68, along with $29 in court fees. This means she owes a total of $215,876.68 to the credit card company. So far, they have not received this amount according to court records.

In August 2023, American Express filed a lawsuit against Kim Zolciak-Biermann’s daughter, Brielle Biermann. However, a month later, American Express chose to drop the case without any lasting consequences.

DailyMail.com has reached out to reps for Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann for comment.

In the past, Kim had amassed a larger amount of credit card debt, however, DailyMail.com now discloses that these debts were ruled to be dropped in a court proceeding.

In December 2023, JP Morgan Chase Bank filed a lawsuit against her for an unpaid amount of $4,624.02. However, by March 2024, this lawsuit was dropped without any long-term consequences because neither party appeared at a mandatory hearing and didn’t proceed with court filings.

In addition to other issues, Kim found herself entangled in a legal dispute with Saks/Capital One. In August 2023, they filed a lawsuit stating that the TV personality failed to repay a loan of $156,080.64. However, this case was dropped without any consequences in February 2024, as there had been no activity or response from Kim for several months.

In a separate lawsuit initiated by Bank of America, it was disclosed that she owed $56,224.07 to the credit card company. Yet, this case was dismissed in April 2024 as Bank of America failed to establish service by the date of the hearing where no service was provided.

A few weeks ago, it came to light in the debut episode of Bravo’s latest reality series, Next Gen NYC, that Kim’s daughter Ariana disclosed her mother and new spouse had squandered her savings.

At just 14 years old, this 23-year-old social media influencer began earning substantial sums through partnerships with brands and sponsored content. However, she claims that her earnings from those early ventures were later squandered by her parents.

She mentioned that she used to publish around three articles or Instagram posts weekly, earning a substantial amount for each one. However, sadly, her parents ended up taking the money she had earned.

Back in May 2023, I found myself taking the painful step to legally part ways with my partner after nearly a decade-and-a-half together. Since then, it’s been one rollercoaster ride through a messy legal quagmire filled with bitter disagreements over our Georgia mansion, multiple police interventions, child custody battles for KJ, Kash, Kaia, and Kane, and financial support matters. It’s been an emotional and exhausting ordeal that I wouldn’t wish upon anyone.

Previously, Kroy had claimed in legal records that Kim had squandered approximately $1.5 million by gambling. He further asserted that her extravagant shopping habits over a seven-year period depleted around $600,000, with frequent visits to upscale retailers such as Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Chanel being the main cause.

In the midst of her financial struggles, the star of Don’t Be Tardy has been offloading some previously owned Balenciaga and Prada handbags. Over the last two years, she’s gradually decluttered her designer wardrobe, which includes pieces that were once treasured as well as items that belonged to Brielle and her husband Kroy.

Kim and Kroy have decided to withdraw their divorce proceedings initiated in February 2025, effectively canceling the separation that was previously underway. Earlier, in August 2023, Kroy submitted a petition for divorce, while Kim responded with a counterclaim in October 2023.
