Is Together the Horror Movie That Will Outshine Bring Her Back?
Well, “Bring Her Back” turned out to be quite a surprise, didn’t it? To be honest, before its 2025 release, I wasn’t expecting it to become my top horror pick from recent years. However, upon learning that the same team behind “Talk to Me” in 2023 was responsible for it, everything fell into place.
It’s worth mentioning that “Talk to Me” is among my all-time favorite horror movies, and it stands out exceptionally even within the impressive roster of A24 horror films. Now, “Bring Her Back” has definitely earned a place on that list as well. Let me tell you, this movie is quite unsettling.
Nevertheless, though the horrifying scenes from that movie have left me deeply scarred, there’s a new horror flick due out this year that could possibly top it – one you shouldn’t miss when it comes out.
Bring Her Back Was Terrifying In So Many Ways
In truth, “Bring Her Back” isn’t merely a remarkable movie about the lasting impact of grief and how past traumas resurface to influence our present steps. It’s also a film that features graphic scenes, albeit selectively. It’s left quite an impression on us all.
As a movie enthusiast, let me assure you, watching Bring Her Back isn’t like binge-watching the Saw franchise, thankfully. Instead of gory death piled upon gory death, this film has its own unique style. However, I must warn you that after watching Bring Her Back, following it up with Talk to Me was a mistake I won’t make again. The graphic violence in Bring Her Back is something that’s seared into my memory more than a week later. Honestly, just thinking about it now makes me feel queasy, as if I might vomit at any moment.
As a cinephile, I must admit that I haven’t seen anything this year that can truly surpass that masterpiece – but there’s one movie I believe has the potential to reach its caliber, or perhaps even eclipse it slightly.

But Together Looks Like It Might Horrify Me Even More
In simpler terms, “What is ‘Together’?” refers to an upcoming horror film directed by Michael Shanks. This movie follows a couple who relocate to the countryside, only to experience strange alterations in their bodies upon encountering a puzzling force. While it may seem typical for a horror flick, the trailer is what truly intrigues audiences.
For the first time, I watched the trailer for “Together” before seeing “Bring Her Back” in theaters, and even after watching the latter, it continues to have a profound impact on me due to its intense nature. The trailer hints at what’s to come, yet it also presents some truly disturbing imagery. Additionally, I must admit that the promotional posters for this horror film are among the best I’ve seen in recent memory.
Furthermore, Neon, the production company behind some outstanding horror movies from recent years, also gave rise to the term “Together.” Among their works are films like “Longlegs,” “The Monkey,” “Infinity Pool,” and others. This company is particularly recognized for its dark, twisted productions.

The Fact That Alison Brie And Dave Franco Are Working Together On It Makes It Even Better
One factor that further ignites my enthusiasm for the movie “Together” lies in its starring of a real-life married couple – Alison Brie and Dave Franco. Although they have collaborated previously, this project represents their first major film experience where they are truly put to the acting test, challenging their skills to new heights.
I’m equally fond of them both. Dave Franco is not only an exceptional actor but also a skilled writer, having penned numerous screenplays. Alison Brie, on the other hand, has showcased her versatility in drama, comedy, and beyond. You might adore her for her performances in shows like Community, and then be captivated by her dramatic skills when you see her in series like Mad Men or The Post.
To put it another way, “Together” could potentially become another Neon hit like last year’s Best Picture winner, “Anora.” With these two behind some of the trailers, it might even outshine “Bring Her Back,” and I have a strong suspicion that we’ll be equally, if not more, disturbed after watching.
