A chilling serial killer series with an authentically terrifying concept has just been made available on BBC iPlayer, but be warned, it might be too intense for sensitive viewers.
This production, which first aired in 2021 on Alibi in the UK and AMC+ in the United States, was jointly created and is an adaptation from a book written by Daniel Cole.
Entitled “Ragdoll“, this series delves into an unsettling multiple-homicide mystery where six victims were meticulously dismembered and reassembled in the form of a doll. As law enforcement inches closer to the truth, the murderer sets their sights on one of the detectives.
In this series, developed by Freddy Syborn, Lucy Hale portrays DC Lake Edmunds, while Henry Lloyd-Hughes takes on the role of DS Nathan Rose, and Thalissa Teixeira plays DI Emily Baxter.
As a gamer immersed in the gritty world of “Line of Duty”, I’ve got the lowdown on who’s behind the characters: Michael Smiley, known for his role in “Chernobyl,” brings DS Finlay to life, while Ali Cook, once a familiar face from “Emmerdale,” takes on the intense role of DCI Terrence Simmons.

The show, which it refers to as “twisted,” garnered positive feedback when initially released and currently boasts a 92% critics’ approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 12 reviews.
The show has been touted as different from other crime dramas in The Daily Telegraph review.
This crime drama is unlike anything else you’ve seen before; it often deviates from its own formula.

The series was pointed out by The Guardian as one that elicits strong feelings; it’s a show that people either adore or dislike intensely, so you’ll know fairly quickly whether it’s for you or not.
The review mentions that it should take only about 10 minutes for you to decide if the mix of operatic violence, dark humor, and elaborate, almost excessive dialogue brings you immense pleasure or leaves you feeling intensely frustrated.
The show is comprised of six episodes with an average runtime of 45 minutes.
Ragdoll is streaming on BBC iPlayer.
