Gino D’Acampo set for TV comeback after ITV AXED him over multiple allegations of ‘sexually inappropriate and intimidating behaviour’
Gino D’Acampo returns to television screens with an all-new program, mere months following his departure from ITV.
The well-known Italian chef, aged 48, has mostly stayed out of the public eye since February, after being taken off air on ITV due to numerous accusations of improper sexual conduct and bullying over a period of 12 years. However, he has maintained his innocence regarding these allegations.
Currently, you’ll see Gino back on your screens with “An Italian in Malta,” a fresh travel series delving into the beautiful Mediterranean island. The premiere is scheduled for September.
He shared with The Mirror: “My goal is to give everyone a glimpse into this country – I’m on a quest to discover the ideal restaurant, the ideal dish, the ideal location. I plan to interact with the locals, learn about their traditional cooking methods and dishes that have been passed down for centuries.
Apart from his latest TV show, the culinary expert disclosed that he is also involved in an acting venture based in Ireland.

He described his role as follows: ‘In a TV series, I play an Italian-American mechanic who frequently finds himself in legal troubles, either with the police or the law. Later on, he starts working as a mechanic and assists the main character of the show.’
In a playful manner, I quipped, ‘For now, I’m pretending to be a mechanic, but in reality, I’m hopeless when it comes to tasks like these.’
TopMob has contacted his representative for comment.
His comeback to television is following the disclosure by TopMob that numerous individuals, over the past 12 years, have characterized his reported behavior as troubling, unsuitable, and in some cases, abominable.
Based on the report by ITV News, it appears that one film production company was informed about recurring concerns regarding D’Acampo’s behavior, but still chose to collaborate with him on additional television ventures.
In 2011, a woman identified as Hannah recounted an unsettling incident that took place during a photoshoot for a magazine.
She asserts that, in full view of the entire team, Gino allegedly made a crude sexual remark towards her, saying something along the lines of “I’d love to flip you over and… intimately engage with you on the kitchen counter.” This left her feeling embarrassed and humiliated.
She reminisced about a gentle titter of amusement, as some individuals glanced apprehensively at their cups of tea instead.

Hannah confessed that the incident had left her both ‘astonished’ and ‘alarmed,’ yet she acknowledged she wasn’t taken aback that nobody stepped in to help.
Gino has firmly denied all allegations, calling them ‘deeply upsetting.’
Through a recent media query, his legal representatives stated that this accusation, which is approximately 15 years old, was never previously brought up or presented to Mr. D’Acampo. He does not remember the incident and denies its occurrence.
A lady identified as Natalie shared a nerve-wracking story during her meeting with Gino, prior to their on-location project.
‘He opened the door in his boxer shorts, nothing else,’ she claimed.
After that, he hopped onto the mattress, lifted one of his legs, and humorously implied the dimensions of his personal area, using inappropriate language.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I must express my profound disappointment and strong accusations towards this renowned TV chef. His alleged actions, which involve misusing his influential position, are far from acceptable behavior.
According to Gino’s lawyers, they firmly dispute the account of these events. They claim that, as far as he is aware, no accusations like those mentioned have ever been brought forward concerning ‘Gino’s Italian Express’.
Six years ago, he was unaware of these reported events until now. He firmly refutes these claims.
According to another report, a previous coworker asserted that in the year 2019, Gino had a heated argument with one of the younger team members concerning ice cream.

‘According to a report by ITV News, I overheard Gino making the threat to a runner, saying, “If you don’t bring me an ice cream, I will harm your partner.”‘
Another crew member who witnessed the incident said the remark had ‘stuck in my head for years.’
‘He was using his power to bully and intimidate us,’ she said. ‘For what? A cookery programme.’
Gino’s representatives stated that he was deeply embarrassed by the allegation and has no memory of this particular event whatsoever.
A separate claim relates to the filming of Gordon, Gino and Fred’s Road Trip in 2018.
As a lifestyle advisor, I’d put it this way: Reflecting on a past encounter, I found myself recalling an instance where a gentleman, let’s call him Jack, bluntly shared his mood by exclaiming rather forcefully that he wasn’t in the best of spirits that morning.
As a trusted authority on lifestyle matters, I recently came across an unfortunate incident where it was reported that my colleague Gino may have crossed a line. It is said that he made an inappropriate remark regarding a fellow team member’s physical appearance, specifically her chest. However, I believe it’s important to emphasize that these are merely allegations and it’s crucial for us all to respect each other and maintain a professional environment.
‘Shouldn’t we be talking about her t**? They’re perfect, like a mouthful.’
It came to light in February that Objective Media Group, producers of Gordon, Gino and Fred, had been made aware of concerns about Gino since as far back as 2018.
A female employee at Gino’s Italian Express shared with ITV News that his charming demeanor permits him to blend inconspicuously among us. Whenever I spot him on television, I feel compelled to exit the room.
Regarding Gino, who’s amassed a substantial fortune through his over-the-top persona, he’s firmly refuted any claims made against him.
According to his legal team, no one has ever directly accused Mr. D’Acampo of making such statements. He doesn’t remember making these comments and denies that they were said by him.
ITV News obtained emails dated back to December 2024, which indicated that worries about Gino’s conduct had been communicated to Objective Media Group.
In reply, it was acknowledged that he received a discussion regarding his behavior outside of work, and customized training was given as a result.
ITV unequivocally states: Such conduct is not acceptable within the ITV community.
ITN news has informed me of claims being made against me for inappropriate behavior, some of which are from more than a decade past.
I wasn’t aware of these issues before, and I strongly refute the accusations. I strive to avoid causing discomfort or pain to others, as that’s not who I am. These allegations just don’t align with my character. The story presented to me seems unfamiliar.
As a lifestyle expert, I can confidently assert that these accusations are entirely new to me. To the contrary, throughout my career, I’ve been consistently backed by top-tier executives and even invited to contribute on prime-time shows. It’s during this same period when it’s now implied that my conduct was questionable, yet I have no recollection of any such inappropriate actions taking place.
As a dad, spouse, and someone who has worked with over 1,500 individuals across approximately 80 projects throughout my career, I’ve always taken great pride in what I do. Any insinuation that I’ve behaved improperly is not only distressing but also wholly unfounded.
TopMob contacted Gino’s representatives for comment at the time.
