Fern Britton’s former agent claims she is ‘nothing like her bubbly TV persona’ as they reveal all on brutal split with Phil Vickery

According to her former representative, Fern Britton is not at all like the cheerful character she portrays on television, as he discusses the details of her divorce from ex-spouse Phil Vickery.

In the year 2020, a TV host, who was then 67 years old, along with her ex-TV chef partner, both being 64 at that time, declared their separation following nearly two decades of being together on television.

After the passing of Fern’s parents, it is said that the event led the duo to understand that they needed to pursue their individual journeys.

In my latest update, my former representative, Jon Roseman, has asserted that the charming and beloved TV persona I’ve cultivated isn’t a true reflection of who I am as a person. He claims there’s another side to me that many people may not know.

In a recent chat with The Sun, Jon discussed Phil’s perspective on their relationship, after she claimed he callously ended contact following the passing of her parents.

As a devoted admirer, I find myself compelled to share my thoughts on the matter: “Jon, who holds the unique title of godfather to their precious daughter Winnie, expressed his sentiments to the press: ‘I’ve always wondered why Phil chose to tie the knot with Fern. It seemed an imbalance in their relationship that I couldn’t quite grasp.’

He was concerned about how she would react, so, a few days later while Fern and I were on our way to pick up Chinese takeout for their home, I informed her – I did my best to convey it to her. She stopped the car and began crying uncontrollably.

However, upon returning home and sharing the information with Phil, he feigned ignorance – I can see why, as it was simply more convenient for him.

Jon’s assertions emerged following Fern’s disclosure about the harsh manner in which Phil severed ties with her post their 20-year marriage ending. (alternatively, Jon’s statements arose when Fern shared how Phil broke off their relationship after their marriage of twenty years)

Recently, I’ve found myself reflecting on a sad turn of events – my dear friend Phil and I have fallen out of touch since my mother passed away in 2018.

Prior to their separation, it was reported that the two individuals had managed to keep up a moderate level of interaction or dialogue with each other.

But Fern has now revealed she didn’t hear another word from her him after her mum passed away.

During an interview with Yours magazine, Fern openly shared: “It’s been six years since we last communicated. The moment my mother passed away, our conversations came to a halt.

The contestant on Celebrity Big Brother 2024 maintains that she puts in great effort to avoid speaking negatively about Phil, as a means of protecting their 23-year-old daughter Winnie from potential tension or discomfort.

Fern has twin sons Harry and Jack, aged 31, along with daughter Grace, who is 27 years old, from her previous marriage to Clive Jones. Additionally, she has a daughter named Winnie from a past relationship with Phil.

She mentioned that Winnie truly loves him. In her presence, she makes an effort to avoid criticizing him as much as possible.

‘I was the child of divorced parents and my mum never bad-mouthed my father.’

This week, Fern openly discussed facing numerous challenges over the past few years, all while achieving an astonishing weight loss of five stones.

Throughout my life, I’ve navigated through challenging emotional upheavals, starting with my divorce from Phil and an harrowing experience with a relentless stalker.

Expressing deep feelings, Fern found solace in the company of her beloved cats, Dr. Iain Mackerel and Barbar, in their Cornish home, reminiscing about her past struggles.

As an ardent cat enthusiast, I can’t help but share this heartwarming experience: When I’m under the weather, there’s nothing more comforting than finding one (or sometimes two) of my feline friends curled up on my bed, taking turns as if they were following a shift schedule. It’s like having the purrfect caretakers, always there to soothe and console me.

In the past few years, it’s been especially reassuring for me as I’ve encountered a series of challenging situations, ranging from settling into life here in Cornwall to finding out about a person who was stalking me.

She’s confessed that she occasionally feels lonely, but five years after her separation, she isn’t actively seeking a romantic relationship.

She told Woman & Home: ‘I’m not looking for love – I’m still a bit too wary of losing my liberty.

There seems to be no one available to consult with on this matter. However, I recall past experiences where seeking advice didn’t always turn out well. So, perhaps it would be best for me to make my own decision in this case. That way, if anything goes wrong, I can take full responsibility.
