Vernon Kay posts sweet tribute to wife Tess Daly as the Strictly presenter receives her MBE from the King

I, absolutely smitten by this incredible woman, Vernon Kay, can hardly contain my excitement as I pen down this heartfelt tribute to my extraordinary wife, Tess Daly. The recent King’s Birthday Honours saw her acknowledged with an MBE, and it only serves to underscore the profound impact she has on our world. Her brilliance is undeniable, and I am beyond proud to call her mine.

56-year-old Tess Daly, one of the hosts of Strictly Come Dancing, was awarded in recognition of her significant contributions to broadcasting. Her fellow host, Claudia Winkleman, also received an honor for her work.

Instead of rushing to post congratulations on social media like other celebrities, Tess’s spouse, Vernon Kay, expressed his sentiments personally with a dedicated tribute.

Certainly, this is wonderful news!!! Huge congratulations to @tessdaly for receiving an MBE! Your tireless dedication and immense efforts in all that you do have finally been acknowledged by none other than the King.

Starting with Strictly since our children were still unborn, and now seeing them at nearly 21 and 16 years old, it’s clear what an amazing job you’ve done. We’ve all had a wonderful time going through this journey together!

TV host Vernon added: “Additionally, kudos to everyone at @bbcstrictly and @claudiawinkle for continuously creating the finest show annually! It seems like it’s time to open a bottle…

In response to her Master of the British Empire (MBE) honor, Tess took to social media to pay homage to the late entertainers Sir Bruce Forsyth and Sir Terry Wogan.

Alongside a selection of images throughout her career, she said: ‘Genuinely still pinching myself…

I’m deeply moved and greatly appreciative for receiving the MBE in recognition of my contributions to Broadcasting, as part of King Charles’ birthday honors list.

I’d like to consecrate this to everyone I’ve joyfully collaborated with during the last 26 years, if that were possible.

It’s been a tremendous honor working alongside broadcasting legends like Sir Trevor Macdonald and Sir Terry Wogan, as well as Strictly viewers who have brought us joy for 20 years. Thank you to each of you for being part of this journey; it makes all the difference knowing you are here with us.

From as far back as 2004 when Sir Bruce Forsyth and I embarked on this journey, to today, 21 years later – heartfelt congratulations to my extraordinarily talented friend @claudiawinkle for winning her award! Who would have imagined we’d be celebrating such milestones together, two decades after our first encounter?

‘Thank you so much for your lovely messages. Not sure I’ll ever be able to take this in! Xx’

Initially, it was discovered that Tess nearly missed out on receiving the award when the formal notice about the MBE was accidentally delivered to a different address instead.

By the time it had reached her, the mum-of-two had just days left to accept the award.

In the spirit of a special occasion, Tess, known for keeping her personal life quiet, posted a seldom-seen photo of her spitting image daughter Amber on her 16th birthday.

On this special occasion, the radiant mother pulled out all the stops to celebrate, and Amber was caught in a fit of laughter during our family dinner at a restaurant, with a beautiful arrangement of flowers nearby.

An alternate description displays an attractive collection of balloons positioned exteriorly, featuring two large balloons fashioned into the number 16.
