Chris Pratt and Anna Faris reunite for first time in SEVEN years for son’s graduation after shock divorce

Chris Pratt and Anna Faris met up again recently, about a week following an instance where he received criticism for not acknowledging her on Mother’s Day, marking their first encounter since the year 2018.

Actor Chris Pratt, aged 45, along with his actress wife Anna Faris, also 48, attended the sixth-grade graduation ceremony of their 12-year-old son Jack, which took place in Santa Monica on a recent Monday.

In 2018, following the end of their nine-year marriage, these two individuals presented a harmonious appearance, standing side by side as they posed for a family photo with their single child.

It was clear that there were no hard feelings left between the two, as the ex-spouses affectionately embraced during the festivities.

Alongside Chris, his 35-year-old wife Katherine Schwarzenegger, with whom he has a four-year-old daughter Lyla, a two-year-old daughter Eloise, and a seven-month-old son Ford, was not by himself.

All was good between the action man’s ex-wife and current wife as they also shared an embrace. 

There seemed to be a noticeably more relaxed atmosphere between the ex-partners, compared to when they were previously spotted together, which showed signs of tension during a stroll in Los Angeles back in August 2018.

In the year 2007, Chris and Anna crossed paths for the first time while acting alongside each other in the romantic comedy “Take Me Home Tonight”, which was set in the 1980s. They got engaged the following year, and eventually exchanged vows in Indonesia in 2009.

In 2017, they made public their decision to separate. By the end of the year, Pratt initiated the divorce proceedings. The divorce became official on October 31st, 2018.

Both individuals have remarried since moving on; Faris exchanged vows with cinematographer Michael Barrett last year (2021), and Pratt got married to Schwarzenegger back in 2019.

Just last month Chris once again upset fans by failing to acknowledge ex-wife Anna on Mother’s Day.

In that moment, he chose to express his admiration for Katherine on Instagram, stating in the caption, “I wonder, how do mothers manage? Truly, it’s as if they are juggling a circus, a hospital, and a top-tier restaurant simultaneously.

‘Our kids hit the jackpot with you, and so did I. We love you. Happy Mother’s Day, Chief!’

However, his followers didn’t hesitate to point out his oversight towards Faris, questioning, “Why isn’t there a tribute for the mother of your firstborn?

Another person wrote, ‘Anna Faris is a mother too.’ 

It’s important to remember to show appreciation towards your child’s other parent, even if there are issues between you both. For the sake of your child, it would be best to maintain some level of peace and respect their mother or father.

Intrigued, someone else asked, “But what about your other mother of my child? Did you abandon that phase of parenthood?” (from the perspective of an overly enthusiastic fan)

‘And where’s the photo with the mother of your first child?’ a social media user demanded to know.

It was suggested that there might be another woman who is the mother of one of your children, a child it seems you may not have shown much interest in. This is a less harsh way of conveying the original statement.

DailyMail.com has contacted a representative for Pratt for comment. 

Pratt has similarly posted previous Mother’s Day tributes without mention of Faris.

2024 saw him posting an online message: “A heartfelt Happy Mother’s Day to all you wonderful mothers! My appreciation goes to my mom, Kathy, who consistently raised the bar with her love, patience, wit, and unparalleled joy in motherhood.

Additionally, I’d like to extend a heartfelt gratitude to my beloved Katherine. Watching her nurture Lyla and Eloise as a mother, and care for Jack as a stepmother, only deepens my admiration for her each passing day.

Not all were upset by his post, however, as many joined the comments to defend the father-of-four.

One individual expressed, “It seems odd to me that some people believe Chris ought to honor his former wife with a tribute. They really need to find better things to focus on!

One individual added, ‘Year after year, some women who are single mothers and certain individuals often referred to as “Karens”, who seem to lack excitement in their lives, make a point to remember Mother’s Day. Their reason? To leave comments on Chris Pratt’s social media posts.’

2021 saw Chris causing a stir due to his comment thanking Schwarzenegger for delivering a “beautiful, healthy daughter,” a remark that many viewers perceived as an indirect jab at Anna, who had given birth prematurely in 2014.

Next year, I shared with Men’s Health that I found myself shedding tears over the negative response, labeling it as unfortunate because someday my son might come across those comments.
