The first glimpse of Netflix’s revamped version of the classic series “Little House on the Prairie” featuring a fresh cast has been unveiled.
The series, which reinterprets Laura Ingalls Wilder’s beloved set of novels, is characterized by Netflix as a blend of “family drama, gripping survival story, and origin saga of the American West.” It provides a colorful perspective on the hardships and victories experienced by those who molded the frontier.
After commencing filming in Canada, the streaming service announced the main cast for the show, as depicted in this picture: The Ingalls family as portrayed on screen, following a rehearsal of the script during a table reading session.
The principal actors are Crosby Fitzgerald, Skywalker Hughes, Alice Halsey, and Luke Bracey, who will play Caroline, Mary, Laura, and Charles Ingalls respectively. Additionally, Warren Christie, Meegwun Fairbrother, and Jocko Sims will be part of the supporting cast.
In a new development, Rebecca Sonnenshine will take on the task of adapting Wilder’s novels, also assuming the role of showrunner. It has been confirmed that Sarah Adina Smith will direct the pilot episode. Filming for the project is scheduled to start this month in Winnipeg, Canada.

Trip Friendly, the executive producer, shared: “For a long time, I’ve cherished the idea of preserving my father’s heritage by modernizing Wilder’s beloved American tales. My goal is to create a new interpretation that appeals to fans of both the books and the original show.
In the 1970s, the television network NBC ran a long-running historical drama based on Wilder’s novels, which spanned nine seasons and produced more than 200 episodes, concluding in 1983.
Netflix’s Little House on the Prairie currently has no release date.
