Orlando Bloom teases the possibility of ‘getting the band back together’ for a new Pirates of the Caribbean movie
Eight years have passed since the release of the last Pirates of the Caribbean film, 2017’s Dead Men Tell No Tales, and it appears that Orlando Bloom is set to rejoin the series once more.
Bloom first gained prominence by portraying Legolas in the popular Lord of the Rings series, swiftly leveraging this success to land the role of Will Turner within the Pirates of the Caribbean film series.
Discussions about a sixth Pirates of the Caribbean movie have surfaced since Dead Men Tell No Tales was released, and there’s word that the upcoming film may serve as a reboot, potentially excluding Johnny Depp from his role as Captain Jack Sparrow. (April 2021)
Although no official confirmation has come from Disney regarding a sixth Pirates film, producer Jerry Bruckheimer suggested last year that there are actually two distinct Pirates movies in development – one featuring Johnny Depp and another without him.
Lately, Bloom made an appearance on This Morning, discussing his upcoming movie titled Deep Cover, co-starring Bryce Dallas Howard and Nick Mohammed. During the interview, he was questioned about potential developments in the series.
He acknowledged that he had no information regarding a potential sequel, yet his demeanor clearly showed enthusiasm for a possible comeback.

At this point, I can’t make any definitive statements because I don’t have enough information, but I can confirm that there is indeed something regarding availability.” And when asked about the specifics, he clarified that it wasn’t related to what was being asked.
Bloom confessed that they seem to be figuring out how everything might shape up, and he himself believes it’d be fantastic if we could reunite the band again.
Bloom shared that it sounds promising, but since there can be varying perspectives, the ultimate outcome is yet to be determined.
It seems that the franchise continues to hold a special spot in Bloom’s affections, as evidenced by his reaction to Keira Knightley’s latest remarks regarding the movies.
Back in November, she shared with The Times that being part of the Pirates of the Caribbean series was a double-edged sword for her, providing and taking away from her at the same time.
Knightley stated, “They were responsible for me being viewed poorly, but due to their success, I received the chance to star in the movies that ultimately earned me Oscar nominations.
She stated that those movies were the most accomplished ones she would ever participate in, and they were the cause for her being criticized in public. As a result, they occupy a rather puzzling space in her mind.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Bloom remarked, “That moment felt so monumental, it’s as if it happened in a different era altogether now.

The actor expressed agreement with Keira’s perspective and admiration for her actions, adding that he gained many favorable impressions.
The Pirates of the Caribbean series, originally inspired by a popular Disney amusement park attraction, has accumulated more than $4.5 billion in global box office revenue.
Notably, it was also the initial film series to produce two distinct movies earning over a billion dollars each – Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (grossing $1.1 billion) and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides ($1.046 billion).
Despite staying out of the limelight following his court cases with Amber Heard, fans may wonder if Johnny Depp will reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in another Pirates film.
