Mel Gibson starts work on rebuilding his $23million mega mansion in Malibu after it was ravaged in the LA fires
It seems that Mel Gibson is working on restoring his luxurious $23.5 million estate, which was destroyed by the severe wildfires in Los Angeles back in January.
69-year-old legend from Mad Max resided for 15 years in a sprawling Malibu property with five bedrooms and five baths, which he purchased for $11.5 million back in 2008.
Fresh images show that the entire debris on the 2.2 hectare hilltop location has been removed, paving the way for construction preparations to start.
Aerial photos show that foundations for a new structure are underway.
The article mentions that they’ve built paths around the construction site, even covering the old pool house, to make it simpler for workers to move about during the building process.

In a 2019 catalog, this property was labeled as an “Old World” mansion. The house sat amidst verdant wilderness, and its elevated location provided a breathtaking panorama of the ocean.
This expansive property boasts high vaulted ceilings, visible wooden rafters, and large glass windows, while offering a detached guest quarters and fitness center as private spaces.
Other highlights included an al fresco dining area.
In 2019, Gibson attempted to put up his property valued at approximately $18,137,881 on sale, but subsequently took it off the market.
Instead of trying to rebuild, several neighbors in the affluent neighborhood have decided to vacate and sell their damaged properties, as stated in the report.
