Must see: A “heartbreaking” British drama with Jason Watkins is on TV tonight
A “heartbreaking” British drama with The Crown‘s Jason Watkins is airing on TV tonight.
2017 saw the release of a captivating movie titled “The Children Act,” which I found myself deeply drawn to. Notable talents like Emma Thompson from “Years and Years,” Stanley Tucci known for his role in “The Hunger Games,” Fionn Whitehead hailing from “Dunkirk,” and Ben Chaplin, star of “Apple Tree Yard,” graced the screen alongside me in this compelling production.
The movie is adapted from Ian McEwan’s novel and revolves around Fiona, a judge working at the High Court, who becomes entwined in the legal proceedings of a 17-year-old boy battling leukemia.

Medical professionals recommend giving him a blood transfusion, yet his deeply religious parents are objecting to it. Meanwhile, Fiona faces challenges at home due to her crumbling marriage.
Tonight, the movie is scheduled to broadcast on BBC Two at 11 pm. You’ll be able to watch it later on iPlayer as well.
There are plenty of positive reviews of the film, with many praising Thompson’s performance.
Here’s what some of the reviews said:
