Adam Rickitt and GMB host wife Katy’s new life in Sicily as the couple fulfil ‘life long dream’ of buying holiday home on Mediterranean island

Adam Rickitt and his spouse, Katy, have shared that they’ve finally achieved a lifelong aspiration by purchasing a second residence in Sicily, which they affectionately refer to as their “away-from-home.

The duo, aged 47, operate and reside above a craft beer and specialty gin pub named Dexter and Jones, which they own, in the town of Knutsford. They share this abode with their two faithful canines.

More recently, it was disclosed that the couple, frequent visitors of Sicily for vacations, are aiming to expand their presence on the Mediterranean island and subtly suggested a potential business expansion in the area.

Last week, the couple transformed their long-held wish into a fact when they declared that they had successfully purchased a vacation property there.

Previously known for his roles on Coronation Street and Good Morning Britain, the actor-turned-host was beaming ear to ear, basking in the sun and relishing an evening socializing on the island, following the completion of the necessary paperwork to claim ownership of the property.

Sharing the latest update, it’s Katy – married to Adam since 2014 – exclaiming: ‘Oh my goodness! Something incredible has taken place! We are overjoyed beyond words!’

Following a ceremony reminiscent of a wedding vow renewal, we now joyfully claim ownership of a minuscule piece of paradise on the island affectionately known as ‘Happy Place’: Ortigia!

After spending numerous years engrossed in marathon sessions of @aplaceinthesunofficial, I never imagined it would lead me here, and perhaps we’re a bit eccentric for doing this. Yet, we’ve taken the bold step of remortgaging our own home to make it happen!

As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase it like this: “Ultimately, I found that cherishing those special moments, such as saving up for spontaneous date nights or quick getaways when life needs a pause, feels like the ultimate luxury – much more appealing than constantly planning ahead. And let’s face it, there’s something charming about letting the bulldogs claim the only sofa at home!

‘We’ll be showing you around properly soon, but for now, we’re off to buy paint and vacuums in the sun! Isn’t that wild? By the way, it seems we’ve become PART ORTIGIAN recently. I might explode with excitement!’

Adam was definitely in high spirits, having finished off a bottle of champagne, with construction on his house beginning the next day.

He titled his post: “We achieved something! For years, I’ve cherished the dream of having a retreat in Sicily…it’s nothing extravagant or grand…but it’s ours!

Since then, the couple has offered fans a peek at their revamped lifestyle, lately unveiling a guided tour of their breathtakingly beautiful new residence.

The stunning Sicilian house boasts warm creamy stone walls and cozy built-in sitting spaces, complete with an adorable outdoor patio.

The unique bathroom features three distinct mirrors positioned at varying heights, making it convenient for Katy to examine her chest, rear, and facial features.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m delighted to give you a peek into my personal sanctuary. Let me take you on a tour to the heart of our abode – the kitchen-dining area. Here, a rustic cooking bench made of stone catches your eye, while the 1920s built-in cinema seats add an air of timeless elegance.

Ascending the stairs, you come across a large image of the Scarface movie poster featuring Al Pacino on the wall, leading you to a loft-like bedroom situated at the mezzanine level.

Among the items they cherish most, a set of vintage wooden wine crates bought from a nearby grocery store holds a special place. These crates are often showcased near their sleeping area, serving as storage for their few personal items.

Moreover, Adam made certain to share his intentions regarding the property with his followers, disclosing that he had already completed a substantial cleaning and refurbishing project on the natural stone, including fresh paint, and discussing his plans for a wine cellar installation in specific areas.

Alluding to their travel plans to Sicily in February, the pair departed for the island, and Katy remarked: “Just a heads-up, #bloodymarys become more delicious after a few sips.

Today, I find myself incredibly fortunate… Our small, charming Italian treasure Ortigia captured our hearts back in November, and now we’re eagerly returning for a second visit!

I’m planning to connect with fantastic suppliers for the account @dexterandjones, and I’ll also be chasing a small, potentially unrealizable aspiration. It might stay a dream, but who knows until we give it a shot?

Adam gained fame for portraying Nick Tilsley on Coronation Street, but after departing from the soap opera, he established a craft beer store in Cheshire instead.

Adam, along with his GMB presenter spouse Katy, launched a business called Dexter and Jones in the town of Knutsford. This unique venture focuses on offering an extensive selection of craft beers, artisanal gins, and premium wines.

This pair presents over 800 distinct craft beers, along with approximately ten draft beers that frequently change, plus a selection of around 300 small-batch gins, and over 200 assorted wines.

The team consistently aims to provide exceptional beverages that can’t be found anywhere else, and they’ve just introduced an uncommon duo: a Battenberg-flavored stout and an Eton Mess-inspired sour.

From 1997 to 1999, and later in 2004, Adam played the role of Gail Tilsley’s son Nick on Coronation Street. He then moved on to star as Nancy Osborne’s fiance Kyle Kelly in Hollyoaks from 2017 until 2020.

After departing Corrie the first time, Adam set himself on the path of a solo singing career.
