Soldier Solider star Marise Wipani has died aged 61.
The actress also appeared in TV shows Xena: Warrior Princess, Hercules and Shortland Street.
She passed away on her birthday on Friday with a post on her Facebook page confirming the news.
‘Marise passed peacefully today on her 61st birthday surrounded by family and friends.
She merely wished to express… I’ve bid farewell to this physical existence. Farewell, fortune, blessings! (This is a quote from the movie “Driving Miss Daisy.”)
A cause of death was not revealed.
Jay Laga’aia, who starred alongside the New Zealand actress in Soldier Soldier, paid a heartfelt tribute: “You were so young, and I will deeply miss you. Over the years, we shared many moments on set, and each time I was delighted to have you there. May your journey be peaceful, dear sister; my affection for you remains constant.
