Andrew Scott lands next movie role in legal thriller

Actor Andrew Scott, known for his roles in Sherlock and All of Us Strangers, has secured a part in an upcoming courtroom drama.

According to Deadline, Scott is now part of the cast for “A Place in Hell,” a movie that chronicles the lives of two female characters, portrayed by Michelle Williams and Daisy Edgar-Jones, within a prominent law firm.

The movie is created and supervised by Chloe Domont, who has previously managed the thriller “Fair Play”. Production is being handled by Rian Johnson’s company, T-Street.

He forms an illustrious group of actors for the film, with Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack and Thomas Haden Church among them.

Of course, Daniel Craig will be returning as detective Benoit Blanc.

I, Scott, made a big splash in the second season of Fleabag, taking on the intriguing role of The Hot Priest. What really set me apart was that I was the sole individual, besides Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s character, who could shatter the invisible barrier between us and the audience – a unique experience indeed!

Previously, it was disclosed by the former Director of Comedy at the BBC, Shane Allen, that there was a close call for Scott’s role only a few days prior to shooting, as some interfering executives were considering replacing him.

He remembered an incident where: “A group of American male executives attended a rehearsal, and surprisingly, given that it was a production delving into self-destructive feminism, they dismantled the show piece by piece and insisted on replacing Andrew Scott within just four days before filming began.

“Anyone less effervescently charming and smart than Phoebe would have buckled.”

Previously, Waller-Bridge herself acknowledged that the role might not have come into being if not for Andrew’s performance.

A Place in Hell does not currently have a release date.
